Re: Haydn coolant alarm, how long should the test beep be
Following on from my previous post, I have topped up my coolant with approximately 4 ltrs of prestone coolant which mixes with existing coolant without reaction. Mine is now green in colour and the temperature is no different to that, prior my minor leak. This might explain the longer bleep duration...

Re: Haydn coolant alarm, how long should the test beep be
Adding to my previous comment above, I use prestone coolant in my 2.0lt petrol bongo. It's safe to mix with other coolant and I have added 4 litres to top up following a leak. It's green in colour. This may be why mine has a longer keep than others.

Re: Breakdown cover refused ... recommendations?
I was with the RAC till recently with personal cover but due to their price increase I have now move personal cover which also includes classic vehicles to GEM who with good reviews, reasonable prices and going via top cash back website came in at £64. That's my 3 vehicles covered including 2001 bon...

Contacting former owners
Hello all I would like to contact my bongos former owners, prior to the seller in order to gain more knowledge on its past history regarding maintenance and repair. Does anyone know who owned a white areo city runner 2.0ltr AFT registration number Y56 TYA. I know from some bills it previously drove ...

Hi all. Mine is not a full conversion rather a tailored alternative. DIY through most enjoyed challenge. http://imgur.com/gallery/VaTeZs2 The rear box has shelves that are hinged so access can be gained to all within the box whilst in the vehicle. For those sunny days the drop down shelf makes a per...

Re: How wide are the various sleeping areas?
Hello. Your dilemma is a common one which many owners still ponder over with regards to installing a conversion. I have actually built a storage box that sits on the rear most seats when folded down, thus providing the necessary storage and cooking space. See link http://imgur.com/gallery/VaTeZs2 Wi...

Re: Front seat covers !
Hello Yorkshirelass.
I have just read your post 're seat covers. I have some hard wearing waterproof covers I bought about a year ago for mine, only I don't actually need them. They are green in colour. You are welcome to have these if you pay postage, which I estimate at around £10 via hermes

Re: broken rocker arm
Just adding to the thread my previous experience with a Mercedes slk, I know it's not a bongo but I had the head gasket replaced and upon collection the engine sounded different, not as smooth as previously, only 3 miles into my drive the camshaft broke. Speaking with a knowledgeable mechanic he inf...

Re: Heater not great, radiator maybe?
Hi. I had the same problem in my 2001 2.0l areo city runner bongo. Heat at 32 degrees but nothing much below. I researched and found what ade33 mentioned. Beside the glove box is the cabin heat sensor (3 cut out slats) clean this by removing the glove box and gaining access to it, removing the elect...

Re: Mazda Bongo 2L Petrol auto W Reg
Hi I am not certain but you might want to check this with others, but you mentioned you were towed, I believe I read somewhere that Bongos should not be towed as it damages the gear box. Not wishing to alarm you and hopefully I am wrong as I would have thought the RAC know this. But if not I would t...

Re: Conversion alternative
Yes, the seat configuration is unchanged and seating 3 is fine.
No I measured and cut to my own requirements, I was unaware any plans existed.
All my materials were sourced via wickes, screw fix, b&q, ebay or internet. I am happy to provide links where I can.
