Re: Air Con Tensioner pulley
Thank you for that clarity Geoff. Earlier in the thread a "kit" was mentioned (for making the "standard" transfer of four circuits) Does the kit include instructions, schematics etc. My point is, I'd like to make sure that my transfer has been implemented correctly. There's another twist to this in ...

Re: Air Con Tensioner pulley
Hi
My glow plug light also flashes on when I disconnect my LB. I've been trying to track down an ABS warning light (separate thread) and have found all kinds of redundant (?) wiring winding its way around. I'm interested in your comment that the ECU backup power is normally transferred to the LB ...

Re: ABS diagnostics
Thanks Bongolia.
Next week I'll check the wiring from the ECU to the ABS unit, and try a front sensor in the rear OS.
But it is time for a break, indeed. Have a nice weekend

Re: ABS diagnostics
Yes, got that. I have checked the wiring between the sensors and the ECU plug (all good.) From the wiring diagrams, the sensor wiring goes to the ECU but not to the ABS hydraulic unit (which is where the plugs mentioned by Mike were his culprit.)

Re: ABS diagnostics
Mike
I removed the heater ducting and checked the plugs you showed me. All looked secure and all the terminals were clean after I opened them up. Re-mated them but no change.
Thanks for the info.

Re: ABS diagnostics
Bongolia, thank you for the thoughts.
The reluctors (toothed rings) are different at front and rear. At the front they take the form of a toothed disc, and the magnetic piece of the sensor is clearly visible. At the rear, the sensor is inserted into the hub through a hole. When I removed the rear ...

Re: ABS diagnostics
Hi Bongolia
I took a break to go walking in The Lakes (very nice, thank you.)
Back at the ranch, I checked each item you suggested:
1. the fault presents when the ignition is switched on. The ABS warning illuminates and does not go out. From this I have been assuming that the ABS system is ...

Re: ABS diagnostics
The dealer had removed the bulb in mine to hide the ABS fault (Pre MOT failure time) ..
Checked the brake lights .. normal bulbs .. not LEDs ..
I metered all the wheel sensors for resistance and they where all OK ..
Fed 12volts to the ABS pump .. that 'fired' up OK ..
Checking for continuity ...

The code flashed on the LED and the dashboard alarm light simultaneously.

This is where I got the "code 35"

Re: ABS diagnostics
Thanks for that Mike!
I'll have a poke around in there. I've checked the plug/socket connections to the wheel sensors, and continuity back to the control unit. But I will have to remove some hardware to get to the ABS pump and the connectors you have highlighted.

Thanks Bongolia!
I will post photos as requested as soon as possible.
I will definitely go through all the checks that you have suggested. I have made up a test lead for the wheel sensors, so checking each one in turn as I drive down the road will be a relatively simple matter - and I will then ...

Re: ABS diagnostics
Hi!
Well, the 4WABS warning light comes on with the ignition, but does not clear (as does the "roof" warning, for example.) I have not been able to clear it, ever - and it remains on when driving.
So at the moment I'm assuming that it is something other than wheel speed (yes I'm 4WD ), rotor ...

Re: ABS diagnostics
I hooked up the test LED and jumper based on the information you provided (thanks!) and now have a "sensible" fault code being flashed at me (three long, pause, five shorter, pause, single flash, pause .....and repeat the sequence.)
So it is 35, which indicates a problem with the Front Nearside ...
