Re: JAL imports waiting time

We bought ours from JAL. We ordered an import around February time and picked it up in June, having had a skylift roof, alarm and mobiliser fitted and wax oiled. We have studied different conversions and have decided to go with JAL as he has the widest R & R bed, so it will go back to him again ...

Re: Jalimports

As above, but I will also say that if you want something, he doesn't want you to have, dig your heels in. For example we wanted a skylift roof with a zipped ventilation window as we had researched and read that without this they can get very hot. Phil did not want us to have this, not altogether sur...

Re: Bongo Bash 2017

So sorry not to have our Winnie in time for this year, but definitely plan to go to next years Bash. Do we have any idea of the date yet. I want to make sure I make it on the calendar and get it booked off at work.

I'm probably not brave enough to drive to France but intend to explore the British Isles from top to toe. High on the bucket list is Scotland the Lake District and Northumbria. Enjoy your Bongo :D

Re: Finally got our Bongo Winnie

Welcome aboard indeed. I liked reading your posts, I've searched them as relevant to my quest for a new one. In Brighton and have had trouble finding a V6 to replace a V6 warhorse that's served us 10 years. Looking at the Worcester man and currently being put in my place by email! I feel he will ge...

Re: Jalimports

Just picked ours up from Phil. He is an unusual character but he knows his stuff and his vehicles seem to be of an excellent quality. So far we are very pleased with ours.

Finally got our Bongo Winnie

After quite a long wait we have finally got our hands on our Bongo, Winnie. She has only had her roof converted for now and then she will go back in September for the full conversion. We are off to the Cotswolds on our first adventure next week, for a couple of nights. Hope we don't make too much of...

Re: Uh-oh

I heard this on the radio yesterday and must say was pretty gutted. I haven't even got our Bongo yet as it's still travelling on the water, but high on the bucket list was wild camping in Scotland. If you have to book in to sites, that ties you to a timetable and has spoilt the opportunity for spont...

Re: Newbie - so many questions

Not tried them myself but... Talking to a couple VW owners  who where using external drivers cab insulation and they reckon it is more effective than the internally fixed ones and the other benefit was the door windows can be opened for ventilation should you wish. Not sure if they are avail...

Top Boxes

I have noticed on this forum that a couple of people have top boxes but have also noticed that a least one of them is an AFT roof. Could a top box be added to a converted tin top left up roof or will that make it too heavy?

Ok right, I wonder if they do a full set and if so how much.i will have to ask them tomorrow. If not I will just order off here.
