Just thought an update might be good for others searching for slow roofs
After all the great advice I decided to wait until the spring to get the roof done, using mrs bongo but don't need the roof and a bit skint so patience.
All the greases and lubricants were out so I thought before putting it ...

yep she's 1996 mike so got the key of the door.
to give you an idea of what a mechanical bell end I can be I went to get in her this morning and had left the ignition on all night :shock:

Had a good look at the motors and they show signs of corrosion, I'm certainly going to swop the gas struts because up she goes when I take the weight of the roof particularly from about halfway up so that makes sense to me.

roof has always been fine if a bit slow but always needed a final push to get it all the way. I got fed up with it and thought time to do some maintenance so raised the roof and cleaned and greased the rails and anything else that looked like it may move ...

Just a heads up, when I was looking for mine I used an app called vehicle smart,you put in the reg and it gives you the full mot and advisory history. There's a dvla website does the same thing...........I avoided some horrors thanks to that ( advisory 1.unable to check underneath because of heavy ...

I don't have a side conversion just an absolute standard beauty with AFT
I'm not actually fussed about having the blinds electrically operated, I have privacy glass in the rear areas and it's only me and the dog.
My thought process was that given fuses 6 ...

Just fitted a leisure battery with a lovely split charge system off rooster.
I'm connecting the aux/radio and interior lights obviously, the remaining two are for the electric blinds which I dont have........the fuses are in and the leads go to the loom so Im assuming mazda just use the same loom ...

Im a newbie here myself and use my bongo as a second vehicle. The only thing I do is take it out regularly if it's only up into the hills for a cup of tea and a dog run. I suppose what I'm saying is I don't like leaving vehicles standing doing nothing better to run them to show them a bit of care ...
