Re: Repair panel

SORRY ('my bad' as the 'yoof' seem to prefer it nowadays) - I meant the passenger side, I'll see if I can edit the post

Repair panel

My wheel arches are in surprisingly good condition and apparently still original, however the corner where the sill meets the rear arch on the passenger's side has had a poor repair which has resulted in the bottom corner of the door snagging on it. The repair patch has been welded on top of the sil...

Re: Solar charging

Thanks Geoff - it's not losing charge, just not always having enough put back in after starting the engine - short runs with lights on and not enough long runs during winter time etc.

Solar charging

We mostly only use Billy for short local runs and have no adjacent parking to allow use of a charger and it can sometimes stand for three or four days without being started - consequently the battery probably needs a bit of help to keep it ready to fire up the motor. When we start using the van for ...

Re: Central locking

Thanks Geoff - I've read that the Cobra is not always fully compatible with remote central locking and that certainly seems to be the case with mine (every now and then the fob will unlock the driver's door as it disarms the immobiliser and on vert rare occasions it will unlock everything) I'm not t...

Central locking

'97 AFT, 2.5tdi, 2-wheel drive. Why does the central locking only work off the driver's door? Is it because A - it's supposed to?.. B - something's bust? C - the Cobra 4100 alarm/immobiliser is confusing the c/l system? D - a combination of the above? E - would I be better off disconnecting the Cobr...

Corner sensors

On both rear corners of my bongo there are what appear to be reversing sensors and somewhere in the van there is a beeper (one of many!) When I select reverse the beeper operates immediately and continues to beep even when therre is nowt behind me - does mean that A - the sensors are duff or B - the...

Re: Cobra alarm

Thanks NathM - I've got the manual but without the code I can't get far with it and it may be that what you say about the solenoid is right. Scootmonkey has pointed me towards northwest alarms and for £30 they'll come and sort it out - as soon as it comes back from having timing belt and water pump ...

Re: Cobra alarm

Hi NathM - I'm trying to work out what it does as its functions seem somewhat erratic. It's a Bridge 4100 and I have a report (from 2012) supplied by previous keeper thst states that it 'has ultrasonics, battery backup and dual ccd immobiliser ( crank and ignition) and that the alarm works with cdl ...

Re: Steering wheel controls

'Tis done! I sent all the info/pics to Ian to see if it's OK to post as a fact sheet. Pumpkin head unit controlled by CMax stalk sitting comfortably under wiper arm - quite chuffed with myself!
