Thanks for your comprehensive reply... All fixed now but your assistance was massively appreciated when in the lurch!
It's a common problem that the alternator pulley disintegrates, usually during teardown to change the timing belt, service or generally changing or tightening belts. I think the A/C ...

Alternator pulley snapped and boiled over - advice please?
Hi
Had some work done at my local garage on a 2.5 diesel which included tightening drive belts.
A few miles later the day after collecting the van, the sediment and charge lights came on and the temp gauge showed high. Haydn coolant alarm had not gone off. I pulled over and stopped the engine. A ...

Alloys - ok to use these?
HI
I have a set of Mazda alloys - no idea which vehicle they are originally from. I'd like to put these on the Bongo - is it OK to use these?
Please see the photos attached. The tyres currently fitted to the alloys don't have a high enough load rating so I will swap them for a set that do ...

Coolant alarm advice: TM1 or TM2 or something else?
Hi
I'm looking to get a coolant alarm.. will probably get the combination alarm which monitors coolant level and engine temperature. Considering the Haydn units.
I heard that the TM2 looks kind of cool and a bit retro with its glowing LED display (in keeping with the era of the van) but that the ...

Re: Insulation for cold weather
Thanks for all the replies on this thread guys... some great info on here and glad that some others are also looking to insulate vans for the great British winter. Life's been really busy these past few weeks but hope to crack on with this ASAP

Insulation for cold weather
Hi
I would like to insulate my Bongo as much as possible so that it's as warm as can be for the winter and for any future travels. It's currently pretty stripped down with all the panels and headlining off and I can easily pull up the carpet.
What is the best way to go about doing this? I bought ...

Re: Tinted Rear Window - can you see parking mirror?
Thanks RooSmith - good to know. I'm thinking about getting a factory tint window (if I can) so there'll be no danger of the film degrading with time

Tinted Rear Window - can you see parking mirror?
Hi folks
I'm thinking about getting a factory tint rear window fitted. If I do this, is it still possible to see (and use) the rear view parking mirror located at the top of the tailgate? If so, is it still useable at night (with reversing lights on)? How is vision through the tinted rear glass ...

Re: Grille Badge Removal
Here is the picture (hope this works!)

You can see where I've had a go at scraping away the melted plastic / hard glue material (not sure which it is) on the top 2 small circles.. but the badge remains held in fast. I don't want to apply too much pressure in case ...

Re: Grille Badge Removal
Thanks for your replies guys.
As for the badge I'm not much help have you tried gently heat if it's glued or a paint scrapper up the back
I Haven't tried any heat. What would be the best source of heat? A flame at close quarters for short period of time? I've tried scraping the hard stuff off ...

Grille Badge Removal
Hi
I've been trying to remove the grille badge to give the grille a respray but can't get it off.
It looks like it might be melted on. There are 2 small circular holes through which the badge has been affixed. There is also a large circle below but it's unclear if the badge is also fixed onto this ...

Re: Rear vent air con issues
The rear controls are in the recessed "armrest" part of the panel, beneath the carpeted top section of the panel that runs alongside the window (from memory.)
Possibly this whole panel was removed for your conversion?
