Re: Alternative Part For Aircon Tank / Receiver Drier

I’d expect the end result would be that the desiccant becomes less effective because the dirt filter will now be after it in the flow. I reckon eventually it will fail. However it’s possible that replacing it every so often might work around this - my original was still the after 20 years! I did ho...

Re: Alternative Part For Aircon Tank / Receiver Drier

Whilst this is an old thread I used it for reference recently when doing some work on my aircon which involved replacing the receiver drier. I purchased the HELLA: 8FT351197071 which others have said is compatible. Now, whilst it does appear to be 'compatible', it also appears to be the wrong way r...

Re: New AC condenser

Thanks for the replies gents
As it happens my current condenser is in good working order but like the coolant rad it would benefit from renewel .
Don't think I'm going go down the road of replacing the pipes or getting different joining pieces made up but thanks for the idea .
Thanks again

Re: New AC condenser

Just bumping this up as I think it's potentially very interesting for anyone replacing the AC rad . I know it's expensive but it's an original part . My same question remains : it states it IS the later model OR is it for the later model ? I don't know ! All I know is that it looks very simi...

Re: Power Steering Fluid

I quite enjoyed doing mine (but then I'm sad). You'll need circlip pliers for this. The rest are general tools. Note you need to be extra careful if you have airbag model, I think there is a guide on here somewhere. Doh, here it is #-o : https://www.igmaynard.co.uk/bongo/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=3...

Re: Upgrading the coolant and AC fans

Thanks for the replies gents . That temp range is very helpful and reassuring hayden so thanks for that . I did think about switching the savanger fan NTH but thought that it might cool down the sensor and not the coolant ? To be honest the system seems to run very well . I had it fully replaced aft...

Re: Upgrading the coolant and AC fans

I guess you could try and find a bigger fan in terms of rpm than the factory one If I was looking to spend money in that area I’d probably see if there was a bigger radiator that could be fitted thanks for the reply to be honest the rad is no more than a couple of years old and to be fair the bus d...

Upgrading the coolant and AC fans

Hello all I'm considering upgrading the coolant and AC fans in the front of the bus , my thoughts are that they are 25 years old so have plenty of work done , also , fan technology must have improved in the last 25/30 years . My question is are there better , more powerful more efficient ie higher C...

New AC condenser

Good evening all I've just found this on mazdabongo.com https://mazdabongo.com/product/air-conditioning-condenser-radiator-genuine-later-models/ I have a 95 TD bus My question is can anyone tell me if this condenser would fit my bus as its for a later bongo . If it's not a direct fit I wonder if it ...

Re: Rear AC EVAPORATOR DELETE

Brian, I found this in the "Aircon" fact sheet in the members area: "The system will take approximately 950g (for dual system) or 700g (front system only)." Hello Ian and thanks for that , I've read most of the fact sheets ( my life is very interesting  ) but have never seen this ......TOP MAN...

Re: Rear AC EVAPORATOR DELETE

Hello Alkers One point to fill with gas and one to remove, both of which are at the front . Still can't work out if simply blanking off both rear pipes feeding the rear evaporator will do the job or do I need to loop them , I don't know a lot about AC systems  Brian Blanking them off is what y...

Re: Rear AC EVAPORATOR DELETE

Hell all Still working on this project I've removed both the rear pipes today and all went well . Is it now as simple as blanking both these pipes at their ends or do they need to be connected together to help the gas get around and back to the compressor ? I can see the large pipe branching in two ...
