Re: Full Size Rim - Wanted

Bongo Spares advertising sets for about £300+. I probably need to contact them for a single though if they have one.

Gladly, mine is not a 4 wheel drive.

Full Size Rim - Wanted

Hi All Following a recent puncture, it appears as though the rim is compromised and at fault for the air loss. I’ve had it checked by two separate garages/tyre yards and both say it’s beyond repair. Any suggestions on where I could pick up a single full size rim at a reasonable price? The bongo has ...

Re: 2000 Bongo V6 Petrol 2500cc AFT

Figured I’d provide an update; as open ended posts can be annoying.

Advice on here was good; had a new timing belt fitted by a bongo specialist and the Bongo is running well again with no other damage.

Looking forward to getting out in it again late next year

Re: 2000 Bongo V6 Petrol 2500cc AFT

Thanks for the reply Bongolia.

I’m reluctant to spend much more cash on it but am having a second and third opinion.

As the timing belt failed as I was driving through France, I expect that the damage is pretty bad and to get it running will be costly.

Any ideas from where I can buy a timing belt?

2000 Bongo V6 Petrol 2500cc AFT

Hi

My beloved Bongo has now been recovered from France, having broken down while travelling, and I suspect the Timing Belt is the culprit.

Any ideas on how much I could expect to sell this for?

The rest of the van is in good shape with no rust.

Located in Bournemouth.

Cheers

Re: MJ Green Autos- Broadstone Dorset

Hi Does anyone have contact details for MJ Green Autos i.e. number, email address? My Bongo is currently being recovered from France and it will need assessing. I have used another specialist in Poole but he has proved to be very expensive and I'm losing confidence a little. Thank you in advance for...

Re: AA European cover

Thanks Katka Gladly, the AA have confirmed that they’ll recover the vehicle to the UK. I’m keen to see a report on the damage. Out of interest, should timing belt have been checked as part of the full service & MOT I paid for quite handsomely prior to setting off? Seems like a waste of time and ...

Re: AA European cover

Hi Thank you for the welcome and commiserations. Yeah, it’s a V6 2.5l automatic petrol. Honestly, it was a bit scary losing control in the middle lane doing 110kph and having to coast onto hard shoulder  The garage confirmed it is a timing belt issue but the AA were having the Bongo moved to ...

AA European cover - Bongo V6 Petrol Recovery to UK

Hi An old topic but relevant. I’ve not posted before but in need of urgent advice. W reg Bongo cut out on French motorway and wouldn’t start; so towed to nearest depot. The AA have been pretty good with getting the family of 5 to our destination but with the diagnosis being a timing belt failure and...
