Re: Overheating
I had a over heating problem back few months ago. when i over heated.. coolant boiled out of head tank like your case. my bottom hose was still cold. indicating no flow. what i did was: bleed system extensivly, to make sure air bubbles are gone, didn't fix it check engine oil for signs of coolant no...

Re: Low coolant after hard drive
Okay, got it.
will fill up to full when cold.
before when i did this when hot it would rise and become 3-5 cm above full line but perhaps it was because the thermostat was not opening and over heating it. Now that i have changed to new thermostat will see what happens..
Thanks

Low coolant after hard drive
Hi, so i've been testing my 1997 2.5 TD bongo after overheating issues. I changed the thermostat and it seems to be running fine now. after many casual test drives there didn't seem to be any problems. I tried to give it a hard drive so i did... going up hills, rev to 3000 while driving. and now whe...

Normal Operating Temp for Bongo Diesel
Hi, i change thermostat and bleed my bongo. I am testing it right now to make sure it is fixed and not over heating. I wanted to get idea of proper operating temp of engine and hoses, to make sure there is flow. it hasn't over heated since the thermostat change so hopes are good. condition: cool, br...

Re: Raising Bongo to Bleed Cooling System
Hi was checking it again back at level.
i will try bleeding it again, but since i bleed it already, and it didn't boil over or over heat, there should be a lot less bubbles?

Raising Bongo to Bleed Cooling System
Hi, i am wondering, i recently had over heating issues with my bongo http://igmaynard.co.uk/bongo/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=72473, i changed the thermostat, and bleed again, things look better now (no overheating, bottom hose warm after driving, hot after fast drive), and the level in the head t...

Re: jubilee clips
Hi,
thanks for the advice. I will leave it for now, as i have a issue with my thermostat and haven't fixed it yet. don't want to open another part of the cooling system that may cause more confusion for me.
thanks.

Re: Overheating/coolant boiling after coolant change and bleed
Hi, I went for another test drive. the bongo did well for 20-30 mins, then the level in the head tank was about 3 cm above full. I knew there was a problem. the bottom hose was still cool. i drove it some more and it began to over heat. and coolant boil. i stopped the car right away and felt the bot...

Bongo Gearbox Fluid Change
Hi, i recently did a ATF (Automatic transmission fluid) change at the shop (not a flush), the mechanic at the garage informed me that there was no problems with the transmission, they also dropped the pan, then did the change. when i got the bongo back i checked the colour of the fluid and it was st...

Re: Overheating/coolant boiling after coolant change and bleed
Hi, everyone, i completed another successful test drive with the bongo not over heating. :) during the test i noticed a couple of thing i wanted to ask and see if they were normal. 1. when driving (AC on) the level in the header tank is at about 1CM above the full mark. when idle 1-2mm above full 2....

Re: Overheating/coolant boiling after coolant change and bleed
Hi Everyone, i completed a full bleed of the bongo this weekend. with very helpful advice from ady. (thank you). this morning the coolant did drop about 1cm below the full mark as anticipated. i haven't gone for a longer drive yet, but initially idle and short drive there has been no problems, even ...

Re: jubilee clips
is there any risk is i leave the Jubliee clips on? i just don't want this change to effect to suddenly effect the sensitive cooling system.
