Re: Central locking
Hi, so I replaced the relay module and unfortunately the other locks (passenger, side and rear) still don't work. Have re-checked the two top row fuses and they are still fine. The side door does the automatic closure but guess the circuit for that is different to the central locking. Any any idea o...

Re: Central locking
Thanks both. Indeed I wondered if they were linked. I've bought a new relay now as that might bring the system back to life. If the passenger lock shows signs of malfunction again i'll remove the fuse and look to replace the lock too. I inquired about a replacement locking mechanism (before i learnt...

Central locking
Hi. I've a '96 plate bongo which central locking has now completely failed. Originally the passenger front door was spasming (very loud continuous noise), and sometimes unlocking itself. It was only cured by removing the fuse. Now its stopped working completely. I've tried... - Checked fuse 1 and 4 ...

Re: Blower only works on max
Ok so the other side which has the curved copper metal shouldn’t be bonded at both ends to the board? The pins look fine on my ones as shown in your image.

Re: Blower only works on max
Hi. So I’ve removed the resistor. Rather than it being the 3 pins that need soldering (they seem very much in place). Its actually the copper coiled metal strip which has come away at one end. If this isn’t meant to be like this I can resolder ? and also disassemble the motor as everyone recommend. ...

Blower only works on max
Hi. I have a '96 bongo and for a while now the heater blower only works on max fan speed. I couldn't find a specific reference to this in the forum, only the mention of a resistor that might be faulty. Any suggestions? Thanks.

4W ABS light intermittant
Hi Has anyone ever had the 4W ABS light come lit upon engine starting? I normally resolve this by starting the engine. Run for 5 seconds, turn off and then turn the key until the light goes unlit and start the engine. However recently its been coming on again afterwards. When the bongo has been 'on ...

Air Con recharge
Hi Had the air con recharged at dreaded kwik fit. Held gas for 2 days then lost it. They said they would do it again for free. Question is, does the whole front and rear system complicate things? I believe its close to 950g's of gas required and some oil. PErhaps if I quote these numbers to them it ...

Managing to stop in beaping in the end. By laying on my back in the roof and pushing the roof even while reaching under to press the button, I got it expended that wee bit extra

Loading capacity of a bongo
Hi all,
Anyone know of what the load capacity of the bongo itself is? i want to transport some sand and paving slabs. Assuming I load over the rear axial (2WD) 2.5D, would it cope with 500? 750? 1000kg?
Thanks,
Neil

Driver side door electrical problem mystery
Hi I recently bought a 1996 Bongo Friendee. I've noticed a few weird electrical issues related to the drivers side door which I was wondering if these could be linked.... (1) Right side window switch - Does not work to move driver/passenger window up. Passenger window switch works on passenger side ...

Re: Breakdown Insurance
Hi Looking into breakdown (UK only) for my 1996 bongo. Being on the 20 year bracket, can anyone save me a lot of time and suggest the cheapest provider for UK only breakdown cover? :) :?: Road relay required, I'm flexible about homestart as a pal can pick it up if required. But would be advantageous...
