Re: Hi there - new to this !
Hi there, Another Edinburgh Bongo here. I can recommend The Bongo Barn if you are looking for a Bongo-specific garage. They are new Newcastle, so it's a pleasant 2 hour drive to get there. They do a Bongo-review service, where they will give you a report on the vehicle covering many different aspect...

Thanks Jimmo.

Help me translate diagnostic codes (v6 auto gearbox)
Hi, Following the various helpful guides on here and online, I have the following: https://youtu.be/VsA89npUrnQ I read this as 12 (Throttle position sensor) and 60 (Shift solenoid A) but the Transmission Codes members-area download says: Caution: there is no way for the system of flashes to show zer...

Re: Breakdown cover refused ... recommendations?
Lifesure (the insurance crowd you see adverts for on this site) also do Bongo breakdown cover.
My cover for the 97 Bongo includes home start and UK breakdown for £95 - the provider is Call Assist. I've never used it so far, so can't comment on the quality.
Neil.

AFT tent stretching 'insert'
Hi, Have recently removed the tent, in order to have the fly-screen replaced. I've been cleaning the inside of the tent to remove the mould and generally smarten things up. However, when I was hanging the tent on the washing line to dry, I didn't pay attention to the stress I was placing on the stre...

Re: Oily rocker cover blues
Those nuts circled red - they're dome nuts. If these are holding the rocker cover down, the same as the others, then I would think they might be at their limit and unable to get any tighter. That won't help. There's absolutely no oil down the sparkplug well - so I guess it's a mild leak. I'll nip th...

Re: V6 petrol not starting
Distributor cap, rotor and HT lead (from coil) replaced - now all working lovely. I sprayed the cap, leads and coil with copious amounts of water as the engine was running and it carried on fine. So I hope that's it. Staring down from the passenger side at the exhaust, the state of the catalytic con...

Oily rocker cover blues
https://i.imgur.com/8MtPzu6.jpg?1 (https://imgur.com/8MtPzu6) 2 things: There's some seepage from the rocker cover bolts (yellow) - but what are the 'red' bolts? Also - could the PCV valve be a culprit too? How do you lot go about cleaning your engines? I've seen lots of pics of sparkling cylinder ...

Just noticed your location. I hail from sunny Worthing originally, but now find myself North of the Border!

Re: V6 petrol not starting
HI Chaps, My V6 is suffering something similar. It was running fine yesterday - but today, it won't start. Turning over fine, just won't fire. And it's damp, really damp. A sea mist is rolling in and although it hasn't been raining, everything is wet. And this is what happens. Fine normally, but som...

Fixed smart charger for leisure battery
Hi,
Our electrical hookup simply supplies a double socket (with RCD). I was thinking of connecting it to a smart charger, permanently fixed somewhere, to keep the LB charged up when we are on a powered site.
Any experience out there - or any suggestions?
Cheers
Neil

Re: Restoring a tired auto free top
The stickers on the side of our freetop are pretty tatty and look really dated anyway.
What's the best way to get them removed from the fibreglass?
Cheers
