Hi does anyone know what size the rubber hose is that goes from the gearbox to the metal pipes?
Mine split a while ago , I just bypassed the oil cooler altogether , not a good idea !
I’m going to replace the metal pipes with hose , if I can get the right diameter
Thanks

Re: Cylinder head replacement
I should have specified it’s the 2.5 td engine , it’s the bleeding of the coolant system that worries me .
I’m sure he could do it no problem but if it wasn’t bled correctly and it went again I would be sick as a parrot 😂
I could get it dropped off just about anywhere that’s why I thought maybe get ...

We had the crazy idea to take out bongo to the alps 2 weeks ago , it made it there no problem however it did not get us back !
The van overheated , coolant pouring out the expansion bottle ,not good !
We had aa cover so we flew back and left the bongo in France , they are going to transport it back ...

Re: Finally Got A Bongo !
Cheers for the replys guys , I would like to get the bongo inspected by someone who really knows them . Finally Got A Bongo !
Bought myself a bongo aft today after months of looking . It seems pretty solid no bangs or rattles from the suspension , no signs of over heating and the cambelt said been done . The seller was a really nice guy too overall I'm well happy . Pick it up on Friday looking forward to it !

I wondered if anyone on here had viewed any of his vans , I ended up not bothering , I didn't like the sound of him when I spoke to him on the phone .ive still not got a van yet , think I will need to keep saving , I want something relatively rust free .

Re: Yet another scottish potential owner
Hi Rich I never went down to Hawick , there just something about the guys advert that puts me off .
I've actually bid on some non Bongo vans on eBay Citroen relay conversion and a Peugeot . May end up back on the bongos , I think all the talk of overheating and stuff was putting me off !!

I've arranged to go for a look next Saturday , will go through it with a fine tooth comb, also negotiate cambelt and major service off the price .

Re: Hawick Bongo Dealer
yeah think mileage looks suspicious on a few , he still hasn't explained why the pictures show a manual but on the hpi check its a auto .
He has no idea when cambelt changed or when last serviced too.

I think that's what I will do Rich , I suggested going down this morning but apparently looking at 20 year old camper vans is not what you do on mothers day
