Re: bongo despair :-(
Spoke to Simon again today and I've decided to go with him to get the job done properly. He's been recommended by lots of people and just seems like a nice guy. Think I'm just going to have to go on my gut instinct and hope for best (though I did that re purchasing the vehicle from someone I thought ...

Re: bongo despair :-(
thanks everyone who has commented so far.
Still a bit confused. the overall consensus seems to be to go with simon and get it all done?
It was a bit of an impulsive buy, and I was a bit disappointed that I can only sleep in the roof bit (as the middle seats have not been removed and no bed on this ...

Re: bongo despair :-(
Hi Ian.
It has the back seats taken out and camper in back, as well as roof that goes up (there's a lot of mouldy mildew stuff in the roof though).
Shall I go with Simon then? And get everything done?
I just spoke to a mechanic friend who is telling me that the cylinder might not be broken so why ...

No not at all (well not that I'd noticed anyway, but I'm a novice so could have easily overlooked something subtle).
No idea if the coolant alarm was actually working though? I never tested it when I bought it...

Re: bongo despair :-(
Hi Mike,
Well it did have a coolant alarm, but the alarm only went off when the incident occurred (i.e. temperature off the scale and engine sounding like it was combusting!) That's not a working coolant alarm surely?! But yes there was minimal liquid. I filled it up (with LOTS) of water the ...

Re: bongo despair :-(
Hello thanks for replying.
No I bought it from a private seller :-( Did I get ripped off?
I'm in sussex (near to East Grinstead).
I've called a few garages around and also spoke to a nice guy called Simon who is miles away (in midlands) but who deals with mostly just bongos. He's said it'll cost ...

bongo despair :-(
Hello all,
I've just found this forum online and hoping perhaps someone may be able to help me.
I bought a bongo 4 weeks ago second hand (1997 diesel model; it's done 93,000 miles). First car I've ever owned so it was a very exciting milestone :) Was intending on doing a summer of camping trips. Had ...
