Re: Bongo step for rear bumper

These people do that kind of stuff for Bongos but cant immediately see the part you're after but could be worth contacting them? https://van-x.co.uk/othervans11/ford-transit/citroen-mazda.html I had a bit of a do with van-x when I ordered one and they didn't have any or any intention of selling or ...

Re: Rear seat not sliding smoothly (converted seats)

I've got a similar setup in mine. It might be worth unbolting the seats and seeing if the runners themselves are stiff to slide or if it's only when the seats are bolted up. I reckon if the seats aren't quite as accurately made as they could be then it could be the seats themselves forcing the runne...

Re: Regular & Premium Petrol comparison

Very interesting Geoff and you are left to wonder what the difference is. I suppose there's a possible long term benefit of one over the other but it might be even harder to establish! You'd soon notice the difference if you ran a performance car designed to use higher octane fuel. My mate had a Su...

Re: Show us your phone holders!

If you have your phone in a case or don't mind sticking a thin metal disc on the back then the magnetic holders are brilliant. All that's visible is a smallish rubber covered disc. The phone just pips straight on. I have the vent mounted version like this https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B00Z66LWDW/...

Re: Awning yawning

I'm not a fan of those brackets, I've seen at least 2 Bongos at meets that had what looked like the start of issues around the rear post. My guess is the weight flexes the gutter slightly which eventually allows water in, followed by rust soon after. You can (or at least could) get better brackets t...

Re: Replace FM aerial with DAB?

I fitted an external glass mount aerial, dead easy to fit, albeit a bit fiddly and seems to work very well.

New shape AFT and bike racks

I have a 2002 AFT, the AFT is a completely different shape to earlier models as it's shaped to resemble a rear spoiler with the high level brake light on the AFT. I'd like to fit a semi permanent bike rack on the tailgate but I think the top of the rack where it clamps to the tailgate will stop the ...

Re: Air-con relay I think?

There's a pressure switch, so if the system is full enough it won't click in.

It may be empty because there's a problem somewhere or it might just need a re-gas.

Re: DAB radio aerials

Thought I'd update this thread. In the end I went for an external glass mounted aerial with a telescopic and removable mast. The stick on glass ones may be good enough for most but I'm convinced this is better in comparison to my mates car that does have a stick on one fitted. It worked very well la...

The LED was fitted on import for the MOT, not by me I'm afraid.

These look similar though

Re: New shape bongo, rear fog lights

None at all, I used the local council MOT and the guy even went as far to say it's a neat solution to adding a fog light.
Second MOT with it fitted.

Re: Professionally fitting fridge in Scotland

I'm sure a conversion company could do it but I can't see it being anything other than an easy job. Theres 2 parts to it AFAICT firstly fitting the fridge in and secondly wiring it in. Wiring wise it couldn't be any simpler, I'd suggest using at least 4mm^2 cable wired directly the the LB via an inl...

I have seen one with just electric adjustment on my travels, the switch is a different design without the fold switch.

Re: Fuses

If they're that tight then they're probably also really tarnished and mucky. For the price of a few fuses I'd probably just replace them, who could be bothered to clean fuses.

Re: New shape bongo, rear fog lights

This is my fog light. It's a really bright little LED mounted in the reflector at the bottom. Just a thought if you want to retain the reversing light.
