Re: MoT Pass
Our Freda has just passed as well. A couple of advisories, both now fixed, but NO welding! That's never happened before.

Re: Bongo security as a lone woman?
What about a personal alarm? You could put it beside you at night, and have it with you when out and about in the day. While it makes sense to be cautious, I wouldn't get too hung up about it. You hear things on the news of course, but when you consider all the tens of thousands of other people out ...

Re: Bonnet clip
Hi Geoff
Perfect, thank you! The old clip got brittle and broke one day, and I just got a new one. I won't have to carry the bonnet stay around in the back of the van now!
Cheers,
Malcolm

Bonnet clip
Hi
can anyone tell me the correct orientation of the bonnet stay clip? I can see that it seems to push in and twist 90 degrees, but which way? I see there were some pictures in the forum back in 2008, but they were Photobucket ones and you can't see them now.
Thanks,
Malc

Re: Battery drain advice please.
I had the same problem on my wife's car. I found the culprit by disconnecting the battery earth and putting a multimeter between the earth terminal and the earth cable, which then showed the current drain. It was then a case of pulling and replacing fuses one at a time until the offending circuit wa...

Re: Recommended roll out awning?
We've got an F35 which is fine but, as has been pointed out, takes 2 people and is fiddly. The F45S is much easier, but I seem to recall a post on here somewhere querying the weight of it on the guttering?

New MOT
So, our Freda now has a shiny new MOT for another year! A bit of welding was required, but nothing too drastic. And the high level brake light unit needed replacing as well; the garage sourced one 2nd hand from Topsham Car Sales just up the road. So we're good to go!

Re: EHU to normal 3 pin plug
I bought one of these and use it routinely to power the EHU from a 3 pin socket in the garage.

Re: It’s taken 10 years but....
So, I've got just 297,500 miles to go then! Actually, that's just the inspirational post I need. Our diesel Freda 'Che' has just failed the MOT - nothing major, but a bit of inner sill welding is required. for a few moments (not too many) I did wonder whether get the MOT and sell him, but not any mo...

Re: 2000 (w) Bongo v6 cutting out when warm - Crank shaft position sensor?
Or, as I posted n another thread recently, we had those exact symptoms on a petrol Espace of the same era, and it turned out to be the coil pack, which was also failing when hot.

Re: cutting out 2.5 td
Hi Billabongo. The symptoms you describe are identical to the problem we had some while ago with a V6 Renault Espace. After much trial and error the garage working on it found that it was the coil pack that was failing when it got to a certain temperature. Once that was replaced everything was fine.

Hi, can't help with the batteries, but the circular switch that you refer to sounds like the one I've got for the rear fog light.

Re: Front and rear disks and pads (anyone done recently?)
Euro Car Parts do both disks and pads. I can't comment on the disks but I've fitted pads from them. They do differentiate between Bongos and Bongo Friendees.
