Re: Dash Switches

Geoff, my van is a year 2000 and the one shown says up to 1999 and the rear of the switch is completely different and longer, probably because of the indicator light in mine. I have been looking on Ebay almost daily but thank you for looking. Bob, Bongo spares are out of stock at the moment. I damag...

Dash Switches

I have been trying to locate a switch for the front fog lamps with out much success. I was told by a breaker to use similar ones from a mazda 626 or mx5, can any one confirm this? One vehicle dismantler came back today offering one for £80, I asked if the fog lights were included but didn't get a re...

Re: No side lights and more

I did think about a small drain hole, and probably a little silicon grease where the lens joins the back part of the light as well.

Re: No side lights and more

The rear bulb had blown, it looked as if things had fused together inside. The rear fog light was like an aquarium. I think the illuminated switch could have been flickering due to the water sloshing around inside the lamp. I've cut a length off the feed to the light and replaced it making the join ...

g8dhe wrote: Mon Dec 04, 2023 8:08 pm The Fog light switch will be connected to the sidelights circuit, I would start by replacing the blown bulb and then checking further you may find that the fault is caused by that bulb shorting out and blowing the fuse.
Thanks Geoff, I will get some decent bulbs and make a start there.

Re: No side lights and more

A few weeks further on and I thought I had solved the problem as the under bonnet light fuse was replaced with one that looked ok and had been checked with a meter, everything seemed to be going fine. I had previously fitted a coolant alarm, clock and Haydn's engine saver all of which I have tempora...

Re: No side lights and more

Geoff, thank you for the reply. I have checked relevant fuses and all seem ok. Relays have been swapped around and in all different locations. Column indicator has had WD40 and plenty of rotations and the situation is still the same - no side lights. When I posted yesterday, I had been working with ...

No side lights and more

My side lights and dash light stopped working whilst on a trip away today. I have looked at previous posts and feel I have an idea where to start to sort things out. However, initially I looked at the cabin fuse box and thought that the fuse for the brake lights looked like it may have blown althoug...

Re: Radiator replacement

Sorry not intercooler, I meant to say gearbox oil pipes, these go into the cooler at the bottom of the coolant rad, sorry for the misleading info. Tied a webcam to a piece of wood and had a look at the bottom of the radiator connections to check radiators match etc. Keen to get started now although...

Re: Radiator replacement

The bolts that can break are the ones that mount the fans to the rear of the rad. And the ones that mount the brackets carrying the intercooler pipes. Usual amounts of release agent first should do the trick. If they do break they are nothing special to replace so don't worry, give it a go. Don't f...

Radiator replacement

Continuing from my previous post "LCA saved the day". I have looked at the fact sheet and read as much as I can find about carrying out the radiator replacement and felt pretty confident to do this this so purchased a radiator and engine hoses. Probably overthinking the job now and have re...

Saved by low coolant alarm again (hopefully)

Returning from a weekend trip and the low coolant alarm started. (10 minutes from home). I was able to park up safely and had a look under the bonnet. There was still a fair amount of coolant in the expansion bottle so I topped it up and found there was a tiny leak from the top of the radiator where...

Green Drips

I recently had some metal and rubber pipes replaced because of a coolant leak. Everything seemed fine. Shortly afterwards I noticed there was a small leak again in the same area. I called out the RAC and I must admit he couldn't have been better. He reckoned that maybe the heater matrix was probably...
