Re: Fiamma Bike rack

Hi :) No pictures I'm afraid but from memory the bottom of the rack has two rubber feet that sit on the bumper. They both have adjustment... There was, I think, a couple of shaped brackets that bolted to the bottom cross bar of the rack and sort of hooked under the bottom of the tailgate, if that ma...

Re: Knocking noise - still no closer

Years ago - when I was a lot younger but not quite so stupid - I had the same issue with a Mk1 escort. Turned out to be the steering rack itself which was knackered...

Just a thought..

Re: Bongo 4wd refurb

Interesting discussion! Can you not just download an image resizer, resize your images and upload to here via the 'Img' tab at the top of the 'post reply' box? ... This forum does not have facility to upload images directly into a post :( Ahh! All becomes clear then.. :D Thanks Chris =D>

Re: Bongo 4wd refurb

Interesting discussion! Can you not just download an image resizer, resize your images and upload to here via the 'Img' tab at the top of the 'post reply' box? I haven't tried on here but have successfully done it that way on other forums I'm on.. although I appreciate they are all very different an...

Re: newbie Bongo owner with ticking noise question...

When is the next service due? How far do you intend driving it before then? (and how fast?) Easy enough to check if you're able too... Make sure the handbrake is on and gear selector is in park, keys in your pocket! Lie underneath and try and turn the propshaft back and forward...also try to 'lift' ...

Re: ATF Leak 200 miles from home!!

Premier Bongo's in Swindon have a good reputation, I understand... Station Industrial Estate Sheppard Street Swindon SN1 5DE Strangely enough, they're round by the train station! They are a gentle meander down the A420 for you - 30 mins and you're there, they're also on the way home for you to...

Re: Figure of 8 technique?

We do it slightly differently.. (Story of my life!  ) Figure 8 permanently attached to the van, kador strip then another figure 8 for the awning... When we drive away we just pull the kador strip out, tidy the awning and go.. When we come back we slacken the guys on the far end of th...

Re: Wild Camping and facilities in Scotland

We haven't wild camped yet but its definitely the way I want to go, so anything that can be done to enable anyone to wild camp has to be done - if only to preserve our natural habitat.. If it were possible to get all campsites to allow all wild campers to use their facilities - even if it was only w...

Re: Anyone fitted a Motorcycle rack?

Isn't a motorbike trailer only about a foot high? Stuck on its side for storage takes up no room at all really...

Its got to be the only way to go I would have thought - then you still have all the room in the Bongo for all the other stuff!

Re: Insuring a converted Bongo

There are many and various companies to try, as always! I have heard that the C&C Club is very good but, just to give you another option, try Lifesure. I've found them excellent and will mirror any NCD you may already have on or from another vehicle.. I also learnt the other day that even if you...

Re: Advice on buying my first Bongo

Welcome Bren :D I think you're ideally placed to have a first look, to just get the feel of a Bongo - google Premier Bongo's, I'm sure they're based in Swindon so not far for you to travel and they have a good reputation but obviously a dealer with all that that entails... You will need to do LOTS o...

Re: cleaning glass on headlights

I used Farecla fine cutting compound on mine, with a 3inch battery polisher. VERY gently, a little at a time, wipe the lights with a damp cloth before you start polishing because it makes the polish go further and isn't quite so harsh... Rinse and repeat until satisfied then polish with ordinary Aut...
