O/S/F is open circuit thus DEAD, indeed looks like connector O-04 has suffered some ingress.
For N/S/F, connector O-03 looks fine but only 1440 ohms across pins. Maybe shows ingress has started here too?

6th: set off with tank ~full of E5. Added 37.7l of E10 at Shrewsbury, so estimate now 7.8% ethanol**. 2 days touring with no issues.

It seems to me unfamiliarity with this scenario is leading certain Testing Stations to "cover their a*se" by ALSO insisting on a Cat test.
(Perhaps understandable, given DVSA impose penalty points on Stations for "Irregularities", too many & they lose their Cert. ie livelihood).

Only slight issue is the Switch Surround has its metal clip AWAY FROM DOOR HINGE, towards vehicle rear. Towards the hinge, it has a PLASTIC clip to grip the door panel, not a 2nd clip as I guessed. Which (you guessed it :x ) broke ...
