UPDATE
CAMBELT was indeed found broken under the cover, also loads of oil there. He couldn't really say if this was clean oil (since my post breakdown top-up) or dirty/mixed.
He wants to first just put a new belt on, spin the camshaft by hand whereby ?check pistons have compression? He says this ...

Re: V6 breakdown symptoms
Thanks Geoff.
What happened when your CAMBELT failed? Did engine just cut-out like mine, when pulling away or at speed? Any "collateral damage" or just a new belt & your V6 was fine?
I need hope!

Re: V6 breakdown symptoms
New COIL arrived today, was replaced but still no spark.
Local garage is nice enough, but is now suspecting Camshaft cannot be turning, thus CAMBELT or related PULLEY failure. Is this plausible, does it fit the symptoms, i.e. (shortly after fill-up) cut-out but with no strange noises, since when it ...

Re: V6 breakdown symptoms
UPDATE
So my V6 was recovered to a local garage, who didn't just replace the fuel filter, first tested for a spark: NONE 😳
He thinks it needs a new COIL PACK. I'm paranoid I messed up swapping HT leads back to the originals (rodent damage on newer ones in situ on breakdown), so mentioned the ...

Re: V6 breakdown symptoms
Ah thanks Geoff. Sounds much more likely the Oil warning is just the effect of the engine cut-out then, not the cause.
As Allan suggested, I am actually thinking now a FUEL BLOCKAGE best fits the facts as investigated. It died immediately after fuelling from very low, HT leads ruled out, unlikely ...

Re: V6 breakdown symptoms
I tried a few things today, given she's less than 2 miles from home. Mild and sunny so could have been worse..
Found NOTHING on the dipstick, worryingly (even if stranded on a slight slope) After adding 3.5 litres of 5W30 she now shows FULL on the stick when cold:: but is this too much? Clearly I ...

Re: V6 breakdown symptoms
Thanks Geoff.
Garage recalled the receipt for me: it shows SUPER UNLEADED, they have no recent misfuel reports from that pump.
COIL, DISTRIBUTOR, KING LEAD: any way an amateur like me without garage equipment (only a multimeter!) can rule those in or out, or is it just a case of replacing them ...

V6 breakdown symptoms
Yesterday gave my V6 her weekly run to work (20 miles) and back.. almost. She broke down 1.5 miles from home. Would appreciate expert thoughts on what may have happened, advice what to do next.
She has been running really well, sailed through MOT August (just needed an ABS sensor);
Leaked oil ...

Re: Brake warning light on dashboard.
Thanks for replying Geoff.
O/S/F is open circuit thus DEAD, indeed looks like connector O-04 has suffered some ingress.
For N/S/F, connector O-03 looks fine but only 1440 ohms across pins. Maybe shows ingress has started here too?
Can't see my ABS brackets, but would I be daft not to get a new one ...

Re: Brake warning light on dashboard.
My ABS orange warning light never went off, a month ago.
Since removing headlights, fairly sure I have now found the front wheels' ABS connectors O-03, O-04 (although I couldn't find the Control Unit connector O-01, buried too deep under leisure battery etc for bonnet access).
Unplugging O-03 N ...

Re: Aircon does not run cold on V6
I'm very relieved to say the garage boss had another go today, solved it, he writes "was a bad connection on the relay underneath the fuse box".
Not sure which one he means, guess I'm not bothered now it's blasting out COLD air! Not pressing the point, but seems to me consistent with my "stress on ...

Ok I have found the AC circuit you posted https://www.igmaynard.co.uk/bongo/forum/viewtopic.php?p=723668&hilit=Chinese+based+one#p720503 (may even be able to view that with Flash in Chinese browser).
Not sure what you mean by "pulling in on the pump"?
Will ask again, but garage ...

Aircon does not run cold on V6

Re: E10 Petrol: Have You Used It?
Just to say I am NOT using " Redex Lead Replacement ", having read on the label but NOT online "Do not use with Catalytic Converters" =D>
Instead, I'm adding Millers Petrol Power Ecomax multi-shot , alongside the Wynn's E10 Protector, adding both into each tank of 2:1 E10 to E5 Super Unleaded ...

Fuel pipe: braided needed for V6
I need an armoured fuel feed pipe, since critters keep chewin' mine  This being exposed on underside seems poor design :(
P*ssed best bit of 10 litres down the road yesterday, before I noticed gauge dropping like a stone: 4th occasion in as many years ](*,)
My pipe is hard rubber with 3mm ...
