Re: Rear heater fan direction

Interesting and helpful replies. I tried to attach an image to this post but no matter how much I resized it, it was too big, so this link shows am image of the conversion we have...

Re: Rear heater fan direction

If the rear motor is where I think it is (under the conversion) I'm not getting to it.

The top vents are blowing properly but of the other two, which have been moved about in the conversion so I don't know original locations, one is not doing anything and the other is sucking. I do have what I ...

Rear heater fan direction

Wanted to use our rear heater fan for the first time the other way and found that it's sucking rather than blowing. The whole thing is buried under a camper conversion so I'm hoping that someone can suggest a way to reverse the direction, presumably by swapping some connections around, from ...

We had a similar question and the good news is that your dash vents are working as Mazda intended. Here's a link to our post where Jimmo62 answers the question...

Rear electrics sometimes don't start working right away

Hey all,

I wondered if this was normal - when parking up, our rear electrics (lights, water pump, anything that runs from the leisure battery) sometimes wont work straight away. If we wait a few (5 -10) mins , everything starts to work. This doesn't always happen. I wondered if it might be ...

Re: Dashboard vents question

If you press the Auto switch then warm air will be circulated out of various vents depending on the conditions in the van. You will get warm air from the dash vents. If you alter any of the settings except temperature, it drops out of this mode and will only blow cold air from the dash vents - by ...

Re: Dashboard vents question

Thanks for the quick replies.

I'll try to find the left foot linkages in the light tomorrow.

Both my partner and I were pretty sure that we used to get heated air out the main/face vents but then we wondered if we'd imagined it :/

I'll try the max temp setting and also on auto to see if it ever ...

Dashboard vents question

Hi, I wonder if anyone can help with this problem... Hot air comes out of the top (front screen) vents and out of the footwell vents, but only blows cold/cool through the main dash vents. Our bongo has the electronic heater controller. I'm assuming that either it's a problem with the electronics ...

Re: 'pulsing' power steering

I very much took your earlier warning to heart and didn't try prising open the pinch rings at all, so I might try that a little and give an even more liberal spray with penetrating oil. Can the joint take some abuse or will the screwdriver and hammer smash it beyond a usable state?

Re: 'pulsing' power steering

Yep, tried to knock it up the shaft so that it could be removed from the steering rack side and then back down again, but couldn't get it to budge. I didn't want to get to rough with it as I was only taking it off to see if it was worn and didn't have a replacement and if I broke it I would be stuck ...

Re: 'pulsing' power steering

I finally got round to trying to remove the UJ. Marked it up for reassembly purposes, locked sterring wheel in place, removed pinch bolts, but was unable to get the joint to move on the splines at all despite trying to coax with a screwdriver and hammer. Any suggestions welcome.

Re: 'pulsing' power steering

Thanks for the excellent info. This forum is so helpful and quick to respond. When time allows, I'll check out the UJ and replace if necessary.

Re: 'pulsing' power steering

Excellent thanks. So, once I've marked the original alignment and fixed the steering in place, can I simply undo the bolts on the UJ and will then have enough space to slide it off its splines or will I need to loosen other parts of the steering first to allow enough movement to get the UJ out and ...

Re: 'pulsing' power steering

Thanks for all the suggestions. Could someone tell me the process for removing the lower universal joint from the steering as I'd like to check it properly for wear?

Thanks again.

Re: 'pulsing' power steering

Thanks guys!

Boyfriend has been looking and says fluid levels are all good and we can't see any sign of a leak.

Interestingly, it occurs even when stationary - does that still fit with the universal joint?

He wonders if it might be the pump or a slipping belt..

Maybe I need to take it to a ...
