Hi,
Had this on my Bongo and just bought a cheap remote kit from eBay , about £10 iirc.
You don't need one with servos on, just splice it into the wiring loom in the door.
The locks are controlled by reversing the polarity in the circuit.
I wired mine in back to front so the fob buttons work the ...

Re: Sporadic no power/not starting
My first thought is to check your earth lead, how well it is connected to the battery terminal, any corrosion (usually green) on the cable that may indicate a break, then check the connection to the body, usually the weakest link.
Beyond that I will defer to those who know more about it.

Re: headlights fade when switched on.
Thanks for the replies, it turned out to be the switch! One less thing on the fail sheet. Learn something new every day with a Bongo.
The curious thing is that the lights came back on when the indicators were on, sort of the reverse of daytime running lights on new cars.
Thanks,
Tris

headlights fade when switched on.
This is an odd one, and I hope someone who understands electrics can help.
Took the bongo in for MOT today and the dipped beam light just faded out to a glow (not off)in seconds to a dull glow. Full beam is OK.
I did take out an old Japanese aftermarket alarm a while ago but that didn't require ...

Rubber bobbin thingys
Hi All,
I managed to wreck a couple of these changing the drivers side metal pipe so for anyone who's done the same you can get a replacement from the people at Polymax, part no. ah1615m6, 2.99ea +VAT & p+p.
Hope that might help somebody.

Re: Rear heater bypass advice please.
Thanks for the info, I started chasing back along the metal pipe to find some sound metal and ended up about half way along
Have ordered a new pipe which should be here on Tuesday, if the refit goes smoothly we should still be on for Wales.
Any tips on feeding the pipe would be very ...

Rear heater bypass advice please.
Hoping someone can give me some advice, the long metal pipe on the drivers side has corroded (leaking) at the rear T joint so as a temporary fix I am trying to bypass the rear heater.
Current thinking is: blank the rubber pipe from the heater to the leaking pipe.

Re: Caravan Towing Questions
Towbar fitting will probably take 3 hours or so.
A nose weight gauge is useful but bathroom scales and a bit
of broom handle will do the job.
When you get the 'van make sure it has the pump with it, some of the older ones
are getting like hens teeth.
If you are new to towing the two major clubs ...

Used to be you converted your van, took it to the local VOSA office with your V5, they would rubber stamp the change and send off the V5 to be changed.
Now I think you have to take photos of the interior and send them off to Swansea. By the sounds of your list should be no problem to re-register.
