Many thank again. I did notice a very small leak in the thin pipe that is located on passenger side above th alternator. this pipe is for bleading air from the system I have been told. I have now repaired the leaking pipe. could this have cause an airlock in the system ?

Re: Ford Freda Rad Fans and Coolant Switch ISSUE !!
Thanks guys, I will replace the sensor and see what happens. The temp gauge did go over half way but not into the red thats why I thought it was overheating. Before that I did notice that the fans seem to come on and stay on far to long before they went off and stayed off. I will also check for ...

I have a 1995 ford freda which is giving me some issues. Recently it started to overheat so I checked the fans on the rads to see if they are working. They were working before but now they seem to have stopped. I located the coolant temp switch above the starter to test the fans and ...

Re: Fuel pump not priming all of a sudden .... please help !
I do remember when I replaced the fuse wire from the postive terminal with a new one and turned the ign on the new one smoked and popped so I had to repair it. Before trying it again I made sure that the glow plug rail had not earthed on anything when I changed the plugs. Now the fuse wire is ok and ...

Fuel pump not priming all of a sudden .... please help !
Hi all,
I am haveing a starting problem with my 1995 Bongo 2.5td. I recently changed over the glow plugs because the bongo was starting very slowly, not straight away so I changed the glow plugs. Whilst changing the plugs I had to replace some vaccume pipes that had gone hard broke and a small ...

Re: freda 2.5td slow start from cold problems
pipe is the easy part but its located right behind the fuel pump, so looks like the fuel pump needs to come out of the way to put the new pipes in place and thats the hard part.

Re: freda 2.5td slow start from cold problems
Thanks Brian.
So if there is any breaks in the pipes or on the senders themselves this will not let the motor start from cold am I right ? could this also be the reason why it was starting to take longer to get the motor started before as there may have been a leak before.?? so putting in new glow ...

Re: freda 2.5td slow start from cold problems
I have now changed the glow plugs and tested the relay to make sure it clicks on and off and that the power is getting to the glow plug strip. whilst stripping the components above the glow plugs, which are 2 switches with small pipes leading to them, 1 small pipe broke, 1 is not looking good, and 2 ...

Re: freda 2.5td slow start from cold problems
If I dont put some gas on cold start it wont start at all but once its started I leave it for 5 mins before moving off. I have also noticed that my idle is down slightly and the motor shacks on idle. Its idling just below the 2nd line which is around 600. Is it best to change the glow plugs, fuel ...

freda 2.5td slow start from cold problems
hi all,
I have a 1995 Ford Freda 2.5td that is giving me some problems on cold start in the morning. It was all good until few weeks ago.
Now it takes time to start in the mornings, I have to give it some gas to start then it ticks over. The idle has gone a little lower then before and makes the ...
