The slapping technique is for the sliding door, the vibration is sufficient to operate the microswitch which indicates the end of the mechanical cycle to close the door, this gets out of sync occasionally ...

I tried the slapping and despite being a bit sceptical it did work and got the door closed. Stopped working again, but another few slaps and got it locked again. So, currently ok but get the feeling it might happen again... Will post again if there is any new info.

Hi, nope key won't lock the door either. Cleaned contacts too. It feels like the mechanism is jammed somehow. Both with the key and the switch inside it feels blocked before it gets to the locked position.
