Re: N/S/R tail light wanted

Yep I'm good thanks. got along way to catch up with your 22,300 zillion posts.

I see a few of the stalwarts still around - vanvliet still selling ex Frank Zappa memorabilia no doubt! 8)

Bull bars still creating controversy - still not much demand for them in the centre of Edinburgh...............

N/S/R tail light

Hi, got a friend looking for a 2003 model nearside tail light lens having had an altercation with a wheely bin. Any looking for a new home?

Re: Rear Heater - Night heater conversion

Pleased to hear your 'box got sorted.
Haven't had a Bongo since 2010 although I still occasionally tinker on them.
I almost bought my old Bongo back last year at the motor auctions but it just exceeded my set limit. Weird seeing it again and all the little bits and bobs I'd done to it

Re: Rear Heater - Night heater conversion

Cheers folks. I had a pm from a member about diesel pump seals. Been a long time since I had my fist somewhere as tight, still remember the mental scars! 8) Had to have a browse through the posts, not a lot has changed, same old questions coming around, the search archives must be bursting  Goo...

Here's a handy tool to check MOT history back as far as 2005. Even handier if someone has changed the speedo to record miles

Re: Ongoing Lack of Power Problem 2.5TD (Video Inside)

Try a stall test on the torque converter if you're sure the engine tuning is ok. There's a stator in the torque converter which has a one way clutch - if it's slipping, then it won't work as a torque converter but merely as a fluid flywheel and will give the symptoms you describe. I don't have any d...

Re: New MOT test in 2012

To the best of my knowledge, it's a visual check for wiring/plug security - no actual check of the operation of the lights.

LPG FAQs

Handy site for LPG converted vehicles - especially point 5 and the ignition system. LPG requires nearly 3 times the voltage (30,000v) to ignite gas effectively - I remember reading about folks having some ignition problems after LPG conversions....................... http://www.go-lpg.co.uk/Hints.html

Have you thought of Sikaflex or Tiger Seal? I'd still put in a couple of self tappers for a belts and braces approach.

Re: where to buy heads?

But you do realise that the new one won't flow nice unless it gets up a few long hills and hot enough to open the 'stat.........................and that's what has probably saved your head from damage - the fact that the radiator is secondary in the cooling system, until it HAS to work. At least £20...
