Re: New Forest Folk Festival 28-31 August 2014

Yeah it was a cracking weekend, everyone we met was great, and the music was excellent. Feast of Fiddles on the Sunday night were excellent!

Nice to actually meet someone from here, so Jilly, we'll catch you again soon I hope!

Re: New Forest Folk Festival 28-31 August 2014

Well the campervan section isn't that busy yet. Still only Friday morning though. We are actually in the furthest corner from the entrance gate (managed to get a north facing pitch so our solar gets the best light. So far so good, music starting up lunchtime today.

See you later.

Re: New Forest Folk Festival 28-31 August 2014

Hi Jilly.

We are on our way. Felt we had to be there for the Morris dancing show tonight. Couldn't miss that could we! I'm also wondering why the English language has an exclamation mark, but not a sarcasm mark, I feel it would have come in handy after that last sentence.

Will see you Friday ...

Re: Questions about solar

OK. Well I've had the solar kit off dodgy, got it all fitted, and had our first outing with it.

The kit itself turned up quickly, was well packaged, and had everything we needed for fitting.

Hardest part about fitting was finding the clips that fell off the interior panels when I removed them. The ...

Re: Questions about solar

Yeah CPAP is a real life saver, literally. That's the main reason we've moved over to a bongo rather than just a tent.

We decided rather than go for a fridge, to just pick up a 12v cool box, just to keep the essentials cool. Just some basics, milk and meat mainly. I can't do without my meat ...

Re: First time working on a bongo. Remote central locking

Hi Simon.

At less than £20 all in I'm guessing, security wise it's probably not the greatest. But since you can open most vehicles with a coat hanger and some determination I figured its not too much of a change. Most valuable thing in the bongo that's removable is my cool box full of meat. If ...

Re: New Forest Folk Festival 28-31 August 2014

That looks really good.

Can't make it this time though, have to be back home on the Saturday to drop off the dogs and then drive to Swansea and back that evening for a family party. May give it a go next year though - fortunately 50th anniversaries don't come round that often ;)

Re: New Forest Folk Festival 28-31 August 2014

Just saw this - We're already going! Its one of the few festivals that are accessible if you have dogs with you. And our mutts go everywhere with us.

Purbeck's the week before isn't it? Should be good. Unfortunately the four legged fuzzies do mean we can't attend some :( but that's understandable ...

Re: Questions about solar

Hi All, thanks for the info.

I ordered my panels yesterday and should be with me Monday/Tuesday. Have to say that I emailed Dodgy about all this and he couldn't have been more helpful if he tried. I'm doing the fitting myself, but can say that Dodgy's printed instructions are really good, and the ...

Re: First time working on a bongo. Remote central locking

I did use the remote unit, however the solenoid I picked up was different, only because the seller was on holiday though.

The remote unit was a decent size, but the instructions on it were less than ideal. took a bit of head scratching to make it work. The key if anyone else ever uses this is that ...

Re: Questions about solar

Thanks Both.

How easy is running the cables internally? Haven't stripped any of the interior panels yet have managed to avoid so far but I guess its coming! :)

Have picked up some LED lights to fit in the back anyway so will probably do both jobs together.

Questions about solar

Hi Guys and Gals.

I'm looking into getting solar panels for our pride and joy. My wife needs to sleep with medical equipment and while our leisure battery will run it for a single night, it wont last any longer than that. This is fine if we're touring as it charges, but if we're staying put (small ...

Re: First time working on a bongo. Remote central locking

HI Guys,

Just to update everyone, got my central locking fitted. Opening the door no issue - keeping that muck that holds the membrane in place out of my shirt and jeans - not so easy. Electrics turned out simple enough, I also mounted a 12v socket inside the door to run our sat nav. Our sat nav is ...

Re: Question about rear seat safety.

Hi Helen.

Thanks for that. I did see some of the thick rubber mats on eBay. They were about £50 which is quite reasonable. Especially with dogs in side! Did you find they levelled out the floor much or is it still a two step process?

Mat.

Question about rear seat safety.

Hi All.

I'm about to undertake boarding my floor. Plenty of good info on here about that so many thanks in advance, you've set me on the right path already.

My question though is about the rear seats. We have the split rear seat version, and I intend to keep the rear seats. Now in the examples of ...
