Re: Nikkai 1000w inverter - continuous alarm when turned on
Leisure battery was flat. Hence my new post about split chargers... There was no charging mechanism in place that I can see!

Split charge recommendation?
My liesure battery seems to have no provision for charging other than a trickle charger when connected to hookup, which seems odd. Any recommendations for a split charger? The newer ones with Voltage sensing relay seem to be easier to fit than the ones with the alternator connection but are they sui...

Re: Haydn low coolant alarm is on all the time

Re: Haydn low coolant alarm is on all the time
I had a reply of enginesaver in Australia, they say the screws are 25mm now, mine are shorter than this - they started using longer ones a couple of years ago.

Re: Nikkai 1000w inverter - continuous alarm when turned on
Ok thanks, the wiring is really thick - like starter cable so should cope with the current.

Re: Nikkai 1000w inverter - continuous alarm when turned on
Connected but nothing drawing current. It isn't a sealed battery but has electrolyte in it, which I haven't tested. By the state of the rest of the van I wouldn't be at all surprised if it's had it. I know they are designed for lower power, longer drain, compared to a starter battery so can a garage...

Nikkai 1000w inverter - continuous alarm when turned on
I am a real noob to all this. My bongo has a nikkai 1000w inverter in the back and when I turn it on there is a continuous alarm sounding. I have no manual for it so don't know what it's complaining about, low voltage from the leisure battery (which reads 12.2v), or some fault condition in the outpu...

Haydn low coolant alarm is on all the time
The muppet who had my bongo before me had shorted out the sensor wires on the low coolant alarm... Thanks! When I repaired it the alarm is now on all the time. I suspect some additive, radweld maybe, has coated the sensor screws in the header tank. Anyone had this happen? Can they just be cleaned, o...

Re: Vacuum pipes on engine disintegrated... Where suppose to
Seems to run ok, but the open T piece is no blanked off, and there is another stub from the block which appears open too.
Any diagrams anywhere anyone?

Vacuum pipes on engine disintegrated... Where suppose to go?
Looking at my engine I see a disconnected T piece in a vacuum hose, a disintegrated T piece lying in the engine bay and some broken bits of vacuum pipe..... I have no idea where it's all supposed to go and connect together and can find no diagrams on the net anywhere. I have no way of posting photos...

Gas drop out vent installation - how to stop water coming in
I have just bought a bongo and need to sort out a few things that previous owners seem to have overlooked, one of which is gas drop outs as I have to store the gas bottle in the side conversion cupboard. I have found plastic drop out fittings on ebay etc, but can't work out how you can cut 40mm diam...
