Re: help - lost ring down windscreen air vent

Must have been scary, several hours of laying on the bonnet while someone drives fast and suddenly brakes.

Glad you got it back.

Recommended Immobiliser

Searching old posts but I can't seem to find any recommended recent information.. Lots of Bongos being stolen recently, and I should get an immobiliser and alarm for mine... Would like a box that I can fit myself.... I already have remote central locking, would like it to be incorporated in that, so...

Wiring, Series or Parallel

I was thinking, I wonder if I have wired up my roof lights wrong. Coming into the corner of the AFT is the connection for the downstairs main light. I wired some LED lights into the roof a long time ago.. Basically I wired them in parallel. ----+ve wire ---|connector|-----| main light -----ve wire -...

Re: Cambelt replacement - can I do it...

Anyone have any idea what these tension values are for?

It indicates, The torque settings are as follows:
• Camshaft sprocket/gear 123 – 140 nm
• Camshaft carrier/cap 12 – 14 nm

Cambelt replacement - can I do it...

So, I have no record of when my Bongo had (if ever) a cambelt change. Its a 2.5 diesel, 1995 model. I've just ordered a replacement belt and tensioner. I have successfully DIY performed the following; oil changes, fuel filter changes, glow plug changes, diff oil changes Reading http://www.igmaynard....

Re: front cabin lights

I found when I did this that the LED lights never fully switched off.. When they were 'off' there was still a couple of volts going in and causing the LEDs to glow... perhaps my wiring is a bit messed up

Re: Fuse 8 on LB but not radio

Got round to working on this at the weekend, thanks for the very useful diagrams. I have wired a switch so the radio 12v switched connection is either from SB Acc, or from LB.. While working on this I found that whoever fitted the BMW clock had wired the clock light into the 12v switched connection,...

Re: Wrong anti-freeze?

Thanks for the update. The radiator was replaced about 6 months before I bought it (1.5 years ago) and the work order just says 2.5lt of antifreeze. I had a look in the header (sucked some out with a syringe) and it is still nice and liquid pink stuff. I'll keep an eye on it and flush if it starts t...

Wrong anti-freeze?

I am concerned after a post I read on FB about anti-freeze regarding mixing types. My header tank was a little low (only about 1cm down from full), I extracted a little, it was pink.. So I bought this; http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0055N8I4W Comma SLA1L 1L Super Antifreeze and Coolant Concentrated - R...

Fuse 8 on LB but not radio

I have fuse 8 on my leisure battery, so blinds, 12v sockets and radio are all powered when key is out. However, I think the radio drains the battery as it is on all the time. I would like to put the radio back onto ACC, but leave blinds and sockets on LB. Has anyone done this? Any idea where the wir...

Re: Squeak from rear wheel when reversing and turning

So, rear diff oil changed. The drain and fill plug were a bu**er to get off, but eventually did. For reference the fill plug is a 23mm socket, and the drain is 24mm socket. Refilled with around 1.6lt of SAE90 oil. (I'll do the front next weekend) Here is what came out; http://i1310.photobucket.com/a...

Re: Squeak from rear wheel when reversing and turning

Ok. Pretty sure its not the brakes. Jacked up the back and when hand turning nearside rear it sometimes squeaks. Removed wheel, pads and disc, handbrake was a little sticky and it even squeaked when the drum wasn't attached.. http://i1310.photobucket.com/albums/s641/BillyBongo987/2015-09-192012.27.0...

Squeak from rear wheel when reversing and turning

When I reverse off the drive and turn, there is a squeak from the driver side rear wheel area.
Difficult to know where exactly as i'm behind the wheel and the engine is being noisy, and lots of beeping going on.

What should I look for/at?

Re: Engine Oil

I've asked questions before about oil, but another question just popped up; http://wiki.seloc.org/a/Oil_Labelling_Explained I have 2.5 TD, should I get B1 or B5, or will A1 or A5 be ok for Bongo.., what about C. so many questions. I can find: http://www.eurocarparts.com/ecp/p/car-accessories/engine-...
