Re: Lower ball joint nut

Probably the reason that the nut was hitting the ring (whilst trying to fit ) is the fact that the ball joint was fully fitted to the knuckle (protruding too much) to start with. part No for nut. 999241800 That's exactly what the issue was however the old nut was removed easily (once i finely loose...

Lower ball joint nut

Hi, I have fitted a brand new genuine Mazda wishbone which doesn't come supplied with a new castellated nut!. I destroyed my one removing it from the old wishbone 😤. So van off the road until a new nut is sourced. I ordered a pair from Mazdabongo.com which says they are direct replacements and the p...

Re: Possible exhaust manifold issue?

Check the big rubber pipe that connects to the front of the inlet manifold.
The pipe needs to be removed for access when removing the cam cover.
It is quite easy to do forget to refit the pipe on reassembly #-o

Re: Poorly Bongo

Hi, Have you spoken to someone who specialises in vehicle welding rather than a garage?. When I have needed any welding carried out I have always had a very expensive quote for the garage. There is normally a small company locally who will carry out the repairs much cheaper than the garage. I am gue...

Re: Rattling noise

Try spraying a little water on the drive belts before you start attacking the bottom pulley. Mine makes a rattle/squeaking noise when cold sometimes a quick adjustment of the belts and all is good :)

Re: Bongo will occasionally not Start

Hi,
Yes turn the key and nothing happens no noise completely dead☹️. Not a nice feeling sitting in a car park hoping it will come alive again. Since changing the contacts it's been fine.

Re: Bongo will occasionally not Start

Hi,
Mine started being a bit temperamentall a while back. I changed the starter motor contacts which are cheap on ebay and easy to fit and it's been fine ever since😊.
Try searching the forum for +starter +motor +contacts

Re: What could cause this overheating. Water pump failure?

Hi I see Blueprint make a fan temperature switch for the Bongo - it's substantially cheaper than the Mazda one £13.50 as against £39. Blueprint is where I usually go for stuff like oil filters and the like and the quality is generally regarded as good. Do you think it would be a suitable alternativ...

Re: 8mm roof bolt sockets pulled out...

Hi, Before you go and resin it in have a look at the other 3 fixings as I'm sure that something screws up from the under side of the roof. I had the same problem a long time ago and I'm pretty sure that something had come undone and was found in the roof runner's. Good luck. Phil Absolutely correct...

Re: bleeding problems

Do fans normally come on during bleeding? Mine don't (new Mazda stat, copy sensor from AVA) Mate's did a bit but not enough to prevent stat opening and bleeding. That depends on how long you let the engine run after the stat opens. The fans should not operate before the stat opens that was the prob...

bleeding problems

Hi, I have drained and flushed the cooling system and changed the water pump and coolant temp sensor today. I have refilled the cooling system same as I always do and started the bleeding process. I have never had any problems using Mazda’s recommended bleeding process and all was going well until t...

Headlight wiring

Hi,
Has anyone got any ideas on why the headlight bulb holder's would melt at the earth connection? I had to replace both sides as they were both the same.
Would it be a bad connection with the bulb holder's or could it be the actual earth point on the chassis?
Thanks
Phil
