Ignition live
Which circuits are ignition live, including when the starter motor is turning? I need to conect my twin tank veg oil system to an ignition on live - needs to work when starter is cranking or I can't do a hot restart on veg as the valves default to diesel. Running on a continuous live won't work as I...

Fuel Pump Seals?
Any recomendations on where to buy fuel pump seals, specificaly the rear (dristributor) seal and the frent (nose) seal. I've already replaced the 2 o rings (side seals) that had the consistency of bakerlite! My pump leaks air and struggles to pull fuel from the tank - I've put a non return valve in ...

Re: For the fuel economy interested...
Most modern cars, including deisels have terrible fuel ecomomy compared to cars of the 80's considering the advances in technology. My '86 Citroen BX got 55-60mpg on a normal day and 70mpg if you were extra gentle - if I'd wnated an economic car I'd have bought a AX diesel, thrashed hard my mates on...

Re: converting 4 wheel drive to 2wheel
I live in France and I am so glad that I bought a 4wd Bongo - it keeps going in winter when most everything else has ground to a halt.
Granted I am using snow tyres but I can make progress when 2wd's (of any make) with snowtyres and chains can go no further

Indicators just quit
Indicators just quit - hazzard warning light still work, so bulbs are ok - everything else still works as far as I can tell.
Where is the flasher unit hiding? (asuming its a seperate one form the hazzard one). Are these fused seperatly form other stuff?

Wing Mirror
Got attacked in a French super market carpark - not for being British but for refusing to give money to a scam artist - who then went pycho - a few bumps burises, mangled wiper, dented wing, scratched door and the tough one to fix a broken wing mirror. https://fbcdn-sphotos-d-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-...

Re: Tyre positions
Just been looking on web and it does look like best tyres should always be on rear regardless of drive of vehicle. Whoever (origionaly) wrote this does not drive where there are corners in a 4wd or FWD vehicle, they probably don't even drive ;) The most solid proof I ever had was doing driver train...

Re: Using water with no noticeable symptoms
I've just been through the mill as regards leaks - though it was self inflicted by me cutting into the system to add heating for a twin tank veg oil system. Previously the coing system was only filled with water, muck and rust - it had lived by the sea in south wales so I guess the owner wasn't afra...

Mouse in Fuel Filter
I've been having a problem with rodents chewing on my fuel lines, both diesel and veg (twin tank system). One of them had chewed on the fuel filler line and fell in. I found this when it started to struggle on veg (again). Dropped tank and cleaned, replaced filter and running sweet again. https://sc...

Re: Head gasket or other leak?
After a round of panic phone calls yesterday morning mazdabongo.com steeped up and said yes to next day delivery to France - spent a fair bit of the day chasing where it had endedd up, was at the neighbours Fedex had delivered early morning (sent with Parcel force)? Anyway pump and blets on, bleed a...

Re: Head gasket or other leak?
Thanks for the pointers
Turns out it is the water pump, leaking out of the lower left (as you look at it) weep hole.
Where can I get a waterpump, with overnight post to France? - all the belts wouldn't go a miss either - I think mine are origional

Re: loss of power
Check the banjo filter it's a small filter/screen that is inside one of the pipe banjo bolt at the pump.also if this lack of power is evident try taking the filler cap off a see if you hear a thump or hiss it may be a blocked breather ,drive it with the cap off but put a cloth or likes to stop any ...

Re: exhaust system with cold start switch
If you plan to retain the cold start, the long pipe goes from manifold to the valve and then the short section goes to the first silencer. http://lushprojects.com/bongopartsmk2/code=4000C&cat=a2ajra05&vin=&imgno=.html Alternatively, get a single front pipe from a three piece exhaust and...
