Re: 195/70R15 TYRES all round... Dodgy?
...but the first two are specifically for the front & rear respectively. How do you explain to your insurance assessor that you've ignored that and fitted the same all round, and the Mazda owner's manual that clearly states different front & back so don't swap them round like you might a &q...

....but what about when you wipe out that bus-shelter full of kids and your insurance want to squirm out of all the claims, and notice you're not running the tyres Mazda say on the driver's door pillar.... #-o My door pillar gives 4 different sizes for tires (as do most bongo's)- and as we are not ...

Re: Servicing Equipment Register
Based in Chamonix, France - resonably comprehensive set of tools including ramps and welding kit - also quite used to being asked to go and rescue friends cars - My bongo and the 2 T4's and Discovery before it always carry a hefty tow rope ;) If you are stuck in this part of the world (Where France,...

Re: Black Box
Lynne has been in touch. She says that the battery was recently drained by a black box device which was emitting an audible alarm. It has been removed, and that seems to have solved the problem. But does anyone know what the box is for? Is it important? http://www.igmaynard.co.uk/bongo/avatars/blac...

Re: hold light flashing after speedo change
Yes the speedo sensor feeds the Dashboard - via any kmh/mph module - then the dash feeds the ECU and several other locations as well. I pulled the dash apart again, right down to the speedo module, cleaned all the connections, checked all the soldered wire conections, nothing. Same again, as soon a...

Re: hold light flashing after speedo change
Could it be the other speed sensor that drives the RPM, the first fault code was for vehicle speed which drives the Speedo, the second fault is engine speed which is the RPM this is driven from the ECU and the sensor feeds into the ECU. Both the speedo and the revcounter work and accuratly enough t...

hold light flashing after speedo change
I removed the chip box (Import solutions speed control unit ISLSCUSM8V2) from the back of my speedo to revert to Kilometers (We live in France) and the Hold light started flashing if I go into 4th. Tested the fault codes and got 7 (Vehicle speed sensor) and 12 (Throttle position sensor) Having previ...

Re: Van keeps cutting out
The fuel filter was changed in Feb so not too long ago. It happened again! this time stuck in the fast lane in traffic on the M5! I did take the fuel cap off but this made no difference. The wierd thing is when it eventually starts the accelerator seems not to work and it just sputters out again, t...

Re: A learning experience on Veg oil
Weird  - neither of my Bongos had any problems with just bunging the oil in the normal fuel tank and running on at least a 50% mix, with a 90% plus mix on long journeys :? Sounds like your fuel system was really filthy, which I've never heard of before :? I assume you were using new cooking ...

A learning experience on Veg oil
I've run all my previous diesel vehicles on veg with various conversions and straight depending on the beast. Having just bought a Bongo and not having time to create a twin tank system before returning Home to France I thought I'd just mix it in with the Derv and off I go 1. Don't belive the tank i...
