Re: Interior light led swap

Thanks Geoff, as I thought but was hoping someone had a quick way, may just do the front and middle light, see how it goes.

Re: Interior light led swap

I've just done the led mod as described above for the straight tube version, worked a treat. Thanks for posting this thread. Has anyone linked up all the interior lights so they all come on when a door is opened? Best way to do it?

Re: knocking noise O/S/F

Yes it was the bearing that had play in it. It's lovely driving a quiet van. The van is a rolling project, it's getting there, slowly. I think this year could be bodywork and hopefully a respray next year, funds and family life allowing!

knocking noise O/S/F

Ok so a bit of a different thread this one, I've been plagued with a knocking noise on the osf of my van for a while now. Well this week I fixed it so thought I'd post up my fix for others. It sounds like a quite a heavy knock similar to the chatter of anti roll bar link but heavier, if that makes s...

Re: oil leak, on top of rocker.

Best way is to clean off all the oil, and monitor it over the next 100 miles or so, you should be able to see where the oil leak starts.

Re: space saving

Sorry to hijack the thread but this is a hot topic in our house at the moment, our 'Perry' is unconverted, which works for us rather than having a conversion, we have been thinking of the cargo net hung at the rear of the van, also considered are plastic boxes and plastic stacked drawers that can be...

That's about how far my old thermostat opened too!

Thought about a infrared temp gun but I went old skool in the end.

Re: Calling those with modified temp guages

Sorry to resurrect an old thread but there's nothing worse than searching for answers on a forum only to find your exact issue but without a resolution. So removed the radiator, emptied, lay flat and poured in boiled water until full, as suspected it had cold spots (blockages). New rad required. Rem...

Re: High pitched speed related noise

Have you checked the brake pads, particularly the inside pad. Not sure of Bongo's but Mazda's of this era had metal tabs on the pad clips which would contact the disc when pads wore down creating a high pitched noise which was speed proportional.

Is it louder front/rear, left or right?

Re: Coolant Alarm Driving Me Nuts

My coolant alarm was sounding at me after start up (fast idle) and when setting off at junctions it would give a little peep, found my alternator was over charging so at fast idle it was about 16v rising to 17.5v at times, new alternator fitted, not had a peep since. Worth checking the alternator ou...

Re: Bongo Turbo

If its whining badly get it replaced asap, you don't want it failing, sucking its own oil up and running on that (this will result in engine revving on its own and causing severe engine damage) Have you or the garage spoken to the turbo supplier, they may send you a replacement? Can the garage not m...

Alternator DIY refurb

Has anyone successfully obtained parts to repair theirs? Battery light and sediment light came on this weekend, not charging at idle 11.5 volts, and overcharging at 3000rpm, approx 16v, I'm guessing this is why my coolant alarm is chirping when driven as coolant ok. Anyway back on topic, has anyone ...

Re: Any suggestions for getting Ellie to like the bongo??

We spent about a year lifting our weimaraner into the boot of our car, which was ok whilst a pup!, she used to get car sick so hated every journey. Watched a tv programme where people would have the same issue, trainer said don't make a fuss, don't talk, open the car first and walk them to the car i...
