OK so here's an update.
Whilst dithering over whether to attempt the fuel pump leak I noticed that a clip had punctured the large coolant hose under the drivers seat and that was what was causing the 'damp patch'.
The reason I couldn't identify what the fluid was, is because the coolant had leaked ...

Re: Damp patch under bongo
Ok, so I did what Northern Bongo said and I think it's a fuel leak on the fuel pump. The underside of the pump was wet, I dried it off, started the engine and rev'd it a little for approx 5 mins and checked the underside of the fuel pump again to confirm it was wet again.

Damp patch under bongo
Hi,
I've just spotted a damp patch on the ground under the bongo. I've just done a short journey in it and when I got back I noticed the patch on the drive. On touching the patch it's wet like water but has a bit of a sticky feel to it, sort of greasy almost, It's a clear liquid though.

Re: I've snapped my aerial!
I just wanted to update this thread to tell you that I have fixed my aerial and with all the original parts.
Here is what I did.
First getting the bracket off. Most people have said that the best way of removing the black button is to drill a hole though it so you can get in a pull it out. But I ...

Re: I've snapped my aerial!
Excellent, thank you.
One further quick question, do you have to destroy the cap to get the bracket off? People are saying on here that it won't come off without 'digging' at it.

Re: I've snapped my aerial!
Mine is an AFT type aerial.
So looking at the fact sheet I can see how to get it off, but do you know if I can work on the arm base and remove the broken bit and refit the bit that snapped off?
Failing that, what type of bee sting aerial do you recommend? I've googled it and there are a lot but ...

I've snapped my aerial!
Hi,
My bongo was attacked by a vicious clematis wrapped in a tree the other night and it bent my aerial over. Of course trying to straighten it has resulted in it snapping. It's gone very near the base so it's still quite long.
Does anyone know if I can refit the broken off bit back into the ...

Towbar fitting
Hi all,
A really quick question. I'm thinking of fitting a towbar to Frosty, I have seen some for sale on eBay but can anyone tell me is this a DIY job or should I get one fitted? And are the anchor points already there?
If you can point me in the direction of some information I'd appreciate it ...

Re: Flip Down TV
Hi Roy,
I never thought about mounting it in the cab area, but I do want it of the kids to watch so I could do with finding a way of mounting it further back.
Are Eonon products any good? I have looked at those and read differing reports about quality etc.
Thanks again for taking the time to reply

Re: Flip Down TV
Roy,
Thanks for the reply, can you describe what you bought and how you did it? Perhaps a photo maybe? 19" sounds quite big?
We have a portable DVD with 2 screens at the moment - but to be honest it's a bit naf. I'd like to improve the kids viewing experience a little on the long journeys down to ...

Flip Down TV
Hi,
Do you think it's possible to mount a flip down TV like the one in the link below on the hatch door:

Re: Smokey on startup and 1st few 100 yards
I just thought I'd pop up again and let you know about my Bongo now.
We have just had the MOT done (anti-roll bars replaced) and at the same time I asked the garage to replace the glow plugs. Frosty the bongo now starts and runs like a dream, no more lumpy starting or large plumes of smoke!

Hi
Mine too is doing this - I assumed I needed to replace the glow plugs.
I'd be interested to read the other replies to this thread.
