EGR Vave Disabling
Hi All I am thinking of disabling the EGR valve on my 2000 fly by wire Bongo as it lacks power. I have done all the usual things, checked the valve/pump timing fuel system throttle settings etc. So i'm down to disabling the EGR system. Where do I put the blanks, do I remove the whole system or do i ...

Re: Servicing Equipment Register
Hi
I have a FIP gear puller, FIP timing adapter and dial gauge, remote camera,a comprehensive tool kit and experience of working on the Bongo. I would prefer people to come to me though.

Re: Motion Potion Troubles
At last have got it all sorted, it turned out the FIP drive gear had jumped a tooth when I reassembled the engine. managed to get it back in the right place, the Bongo now runs nice. and doesn't stall out when the tank gets low.

Re: Motion Potion Troubles
Ok Then got the pump back, refitted it bled the system started it up! hunts like a sick pig and the heater light flashes. Checked the vacuum pipes haven't been knocked off, checked all the pump connections, still at least it didn't stall! Apparently as an aside the fuel pump specialists ( who was re...

Re: Motion Potion Troubles
Hi All
Thanks to Supreme Being you got it right with the front pump seal, it looked okay until we tried to remove it then it just crumbled up. Should get the pump back tomorrow ( took it to a diesel pump specialist as these pumps are not readily available and I didn't want to damage it )

Re: Motion Potion Troubles
Hi Windy
I don't think a lift pump would do you any good as you have an electric pump factory fitted. I think your problem is fuel evaporation, I would get the scavenger fan working first.

Re: Motion Potion Troubles
Hi Windy I actually thought I cured my problem once when I changed the sensor for the scavenger fan. I checked the original sensor with a heat gun, temp gauge and a Ohm meter, the sensor closed at 53C however I still bought a new sensor and this closed at a lot earlier and it did help with the probl...

Hi
Thanks this is giving me a direction to go. I have a 12v lift pump I'll try that. Do you know how easy a seal would be to fit?

Re: Motion Potion Troubles
No not really, some pumps have a vane or gear set up that pulls the fuel from the tank. I was wondering if the fuel was getting too hot when it was getting low, I know that VW and Merc Sprinters fitted a fuel cooler.

Re: Motion Potion Troubles
Hi guys what a response I have already been down this road, I have had the tank out to check it was clean, checked all the vent pipes and valves. The only thing I found in the tank was two braided cables about 6" long?
