Re: Why does the front heater blow very hot when it's set co
No lever on my van. The chap in the garage suggested that the heater control was fine and not missing a link, that the additional link is for the climate control version. I'm not convinced, as I have the broken end of the control arm and remember throwing away what (with retrospect) must have been ...

Re: Accessing IG2 circuit for split charge relay
Fixed. Dumb old me hadn't clicked that the piggy back fuse needs two fuses in the back (one for each circuit) , not just one. It then pulled 25A and brought the leisure battery back up to its original voltage. My naivety exposed, but hopefully others can then avoid the mistake!

Re: Why does the front heater blow very hot when it's set co
I don't seem to have a lever, useful as it would be. I think it would be where the pink arrow is.

Re: Accessing IG2 circuit for split charge relay
Hmm. Embarrassingly after thinking all was well, it looks like the leisure battery is not charging. There is power feed to the relay and a 2.2v drop across it. I also can't get a voltage from the relay trigger, which I have taken from the IG2 circuit (fuse 16). Can you please confirm when that ought ...

Re: Why does the front heater blow very hot when it's set co
Umm, I somehow managed to post the same question twice... Anyhow, I checked this mechanism and it seems OK. Good to know it's there - thanks.

Re: Why does the front heater blow very hot when it's set co
Thanks for all your replies. I have had a look at the links by the driver's feet and without the photo posted by Mike Walsall (thanks Mike!) I wouldn't have known but one link is missing because the attachment on the white plastic bracket is broken

Re: Why does the front heater blow very hot when it's set co
Hi, thanks for your reply. I haven't really had time to check which levers you mean (presumably behind the lower steering column fascia?) but the heater selects hot and cold in "normal" (ie this morning!) weather conditions, it seems it's only a problem when the weather's hot (ie when you really ...

Why does the front heater blow very hot when it's set cold?
Just sat in a lot of traffic in the queue for Volksfest and although I was pleased to see the temperature gauge was rock solid despite the hot day, I was disappointed to feel that the front heater was blowing very hot even though it was set to cold. The rear, however, blew almost cool. The aircon ...

Re: plug in coolbox query
I just picked up one of these - this is a very good price as most places have it for going on £500. Hopefully it should run OK off my leisure battery for two or three days between trips in the van when the battery should recharge. It costs quite a bit more but compressor technology should be much ...

Re: Leisure Battery 12v Wiring Into Cabin
There are various threads on installing a leisure battery, the charging circuit and hooking up the interior lights/power (fuse 8 I think) and also an inverter. There are at least three easy ways from the engine bay to the cabin - through a big grommet leading to the fuse box by the driver's knee (I ...

Re: Leisure Battery Problems or Replace it?
Hi, I have an Avon leisure battery on the advice of a friend. They seem to be quite commonly available.

I managed to squeeze a 100Ah in but it's pretty tight.

Re: Accessing IG2 circuit for split charge relay
Quick update and a thank you for the advice. Piggy back fuse fitted nicely, extra fuse box added and an inverter behind the glove box as a bonus. I did need some special spades to get into the fuse box circuits but all seems good - thanks for your help.

Re: Accessing IG2 circuit for split charge relay
There are Pro's and Con's, but for me having control of the relay is a bonus. You can pick up a fused IG2 circuit from the lower connector of this fuse;
Thanks Geoff, I think I'd picked that up from some of your wisdom on another thread. My question really is how do I do that?
Do I take the fuse ...

Re: Accessing IG2 circuit for split charge relay
Ok, thanks, I'll have a look. I was under the impression that it's possible to access the IG2 circuit from behind the fuse box without having to disassemble the steering column!
