Re: temp gauge and heating issue?

Thanks, got it booked in for front shocks and thermostat replacement.

Ian's about to get an order from the shop ..... does anyone know where to get the full casing gasket which does not come with the thermostat?

Thanks.

temp gauge and heating issue?

Hi all, Firstly, I have done a bit of a search on here as there are of course many many posts on many .... many topics but not sure I've found quite the right answer. We have a 1995 petrol V6, first UK owners and pretty sure everything is original on it. The temp gauge has stopped rising, even after...

Front shock absorbers??

Hi all.

Going round in circles trying to make sure I order the correct pair of front shocks for our bongo.

It's a 1996 2.5l petrol auto.

Any recommendations?

Thanks all.

Tony.

Re: Removing the dash to replace the engine/gearbox ECU

Erm .... not done anything with a diagnostic socket? Symptoms explained to Colin at County Cars (Portslade) who's very experienced with Bongos. Suggestion is to replace the engine/gearbox ECU. Symptoms are that sporadically the Bongo will pull away and remain in 3rd gear despite whatever revs we're ...

Re: Removing the dash to replace the engine/gearbox ECU

Thanks. Glove box out.

Definitely the ECU based on engine/gearbox behaviour and 'hold' light issue.

So, next question .... is it the one at A or B (behind the red/white/blue junction boxexs) ??

Removing the dash to replace the engine/gearbox ECU

Hi all, I need to replace the ECU in my 1995 petrol V6. Firstly I need to get to the ECU to read the numbers on it so I can order the correct replacement. I need to access it and it looks like I'm going to have to remove the glove box area of the dashboard?? Any advice, guidance, tips would be warml...

Re: Over-filled with oil? Help?

Geoff,

You are officially a "supreme being".

Thanks for your wise words and you've confirmed I'm not quite as daft as I thought.

Late night oil drain averted!

Re: Over-filled with oil? Help?

Geoff, That is very helpful. It appears I was correct the first time. Reason I'm checking the oil is we have an oil seal leak, hence the cambelt and seals being done this weekend. I thought I'd check the level to ensure its not too low. We had a diesel before and the dipstick was under the passenger...

Re: Over-filled with oil? Help?

Checked again. Being very clean oil it's quite difficult to make out the level but looks about 10mm above full.

Wife needs it for the rest of the week.

Does anyone know how accessible the drain plug is, do I have to remove the shielding/trays ??

Over-filled with oil? Help?

Hi all, I'm not hugely motor-engineer experienced and think I may have just screwed up. We have a 1996 Petrol V6 Auto. I checked, what I thought, was the oil dipstick and it seemed low. This was accessed under the passenger seat, near the front of the engine block with a yellow top. I then added 1lt...

'New' Bongo bought ..... kmh to mph?

Ok all ... we took the plunge and our 'new' Bongo came home with use from Leicester yesterday. Slightly terrifying as we were able to do all the checks we could and THINK we've got a good deal. £4800 + our old Nreg tin top PX, with its BAD rust on rear arches/sills which would've failed it's MOT in ...

Re: Nippon Motors?

Er .... think this topic has gone a bit .... well ..... off topic? Our visit to Nippon Motors was interesting. He had a big selection of other imports e.g. Elgrand etc Only three Bongos worth looking at and after VERY careful scrutiny we've put a deposit on one which he's going to prepare, service a...

Re: Nippon Motors?

Thanks. We're taking a look on Saturday morning and they've offered a PX on our work horse but rust infected (rear arches) N reg tin top.

I'll let you know how it goes.
