Thanks all for your feedback, given that the indication lamp being on for a short while is not normal, I think i'll go with the oil and filter change as recommended. Currently using semi-synthetic. Not done a flush before so any recommendations for flushing oil would be very welcome. Thanks again ...

It's a 1996 AFT 4-wheel drive with a 2.5TD engine, currently using 10-30 engine oil. The engine itself sounds fine, no nasty noises or tapping ad the oil condition looks very good. I was curious about the oil pump.! Has there been any history regarding Bongo pumps that anyone knows of ?
