Chris and Windy, thanks a million for the help - we've fixed the fan *kind of*.
With the help of the wiring diagram, we began chasing the connection between the back of the controls and the resistor pack - as a result, we saw that the same 2 pins had blown again on the resistor pack.

Thanks windy - I think we tried that, but once the fan started it wouldn't shut off (but only tested this for a few seconds). Will try again this weekend, lack of light and cold makes working on it midweek tricky!

We've been trying to fix the front fans in our van after reading other posts about it on here however without much luck so far. The heaters are working as far as we can tell, but there is no air from the front vents.

Sorry to resurrect an old post, but we received notice from a vehicle recovery place the other day that the van had been found... torched! Apparently it's been in Polmadie, less than 10 miles from the house since March. The police had only just got round to identifying it by VIN number...
