Re: Bongo mod register..
Bought my Bongo a couple of months ago and slowly getting it up together how I'd like it. A couple of mods rather than real proper pimping. 17" alloys with 225/55 tyres, actually Hyundai with ebay Mazda centres. And the BMW clock mod for the dash, with a sportyish steering wheel. http://imagesh...

Re: Replacement sleeping compartment floor - ideas & methods
I've swapped my roof for a "catflap" converted roof that was in a Bongo being broken up for spares. What it looks like - the factory panel is cut across behind the hatch, and both sides of the cut strengthened. Uses the same rear hinge points and upper strut mounting points, electrics, the...

Re: Tailgate gas struts
If it helps anyone I have a pair of struts free to collect (Bournemouth) seemed to be working Ok with the standard tailgate, could be used as a temporary measure whilst yours are being rebuilt, or leave yours on and get these rebuilt. Will need to know by this afternoon though (Bongo is off to the b...

Re: Window blinds wiring loom?
Hi, the chap has the switches with the blinds, plus multi plug fittings and a few inches of the looms in case he wants to have a go at rewiring from scratch so they operate as the original system. Very likely though, as per the suggestion above, it will be a simple up/down effort.

Window blinds wiring loom?
A local chap has just picked up some electric window blinds off me to retro fit to his manual blind Bongo. Does anybody know if the wiring loom is already in place behind the panels, so just a matter of locating it and plugging in? Thanks.

Re: Screeching when accelerating.
Howdy stranger :D The broken stud itself isn't visible as it's hidden behind the heat shield, but the failure evidence is there. On the close up photo above the dipstick and just to the above/right of where the three small hoses are clipped, you can see a lot of dry black sooty deposits. This is esc...

Re: Grill
Was it from you  Yes indeedy :D . I think the Ford ones look better than the Mazda ones, but didn't look too closely at what would be involved in taking out the Ford badge. When I run out of other things to do (and I have a pretty long list at the moment so it won't be anytime soon!) I may tr...

Thanks all. Ah, and not forgetting the L bracket that holds the back of the pump to the block (much wriggling later)

How to remove diesel injection pump?
Ok, after a couple of hours I'm giving up before I break something! The engine is out of the car so no problems with access, how do I remove the diesel pump? I've removed the two nuts from the studs on the pump side, timing belt, pulley and central dome nut on the timing belt side, what have I misse...

Re: Vanished v6 Timing Marks
Take out a spark plug and stick a bit of wire coat hanger (or something similar) down the spark plug hole. Turn the engine over with a spanner/socket and find piston top dead centre (the bit where the wire is up as high as it will go before it starts to drop back down again). Check where the pulley ...
