Re: Coolant thoughts please!
Thanks everyone, I've tried reproducing the jet and can't. I think I'll end up stripping the system and see what I find.

Coolant thoughts please!
Okay bear with me...setting the scene.
About a week ago I was cruising at about 2200rpm, water temp was stable at the 11 o clock position. I selected the air source on the heater (manual type) to recirc. After a short time the water temp rose quickly to V High, after a momentary delay I was just ...

Re: Fuel preheater
Having returned from pastures 'cold' I thought I'd provide an update as to how the Bongo got on. Before I do, thanks to all for opinions and advice.
Coldest night was -21'C so not quite as cold as previous years. Bongo was left out every night.
Each morning I went through the same routine ...

Re: European Breakdown Cover
Thanks guys,
I'll follow the links you've pointed out....as to buying a newer van, I couldn't get rid of Bertie. Eventhough I haven't had him long he's become part of the family.
Maybe I should just do a mechanics course and become self sufficient?
Cheers
Phil

European Breakdown Cover
Hi all,
Does anyone know of a decent break down/recovery cover company that cover Europe. Bertie is on a 'N' plate 1995. I've tried the usual market comparison but nobody seems to want to quote, I'm guessing because of his age!
Thanks,
Phil

Re: Fuel preheater
Thanks everybody,
Helen.. Thanks for a very detailed and informative post. I'm committed to taking the Bongo! I've got a few more ideas that may help if it gets really cold so I guess watch this space.

Re: Fuel preheater
Sorry Chipvan... I'm being slow...will not do what? I only want it to melt the crystal that pass through the diesel therm...just prior to the filter...sp they melt and allow a free flow of diesel to the injectors.
Why won't it work?

Re: Fuel preheater
Thanks for the replies but I'm a little confused... It's to pre-heat the diesel in extremely cold temperatures... If the OAT gets below -20'C I turn the system on manually in the cab. It melts the paraffin crystals in the fuel lines before they get to the fuel filter and clog it. It's got a ...

Re: Fuel preheater
So... After lots of searching and deliberating I've had the ATG diesel therm fitted. System seems like it should work well with a heating unit up flow just before the fuel filter. Off to Bavaria in a couple of weeks. Hopefully I won't end up chugging to a stop as I have the last 3 out of 4 years!

Matt,
How did you get on...any pictures yet? I'd be interested to see if I could copy you as apparently my rear control is behind the fridge?
Regards,
Phil

Gem of a company....HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
It's not often that I trust garages or have received a service I would comment on in a favourable manner.... However, I recently had the pleasure of dealing with a company called 321 Away.
