Re: KTC extended life vegetable oil

The last batch of KTC I bought said it was rapeseed, so could be anything. Most don't say anything except cooking oil. Have been using it for several years now with no problems except rough idling, which I have now tracked down to the lack of any proper escape route for air with the system I have in...

Yes Paul. There won't be any conflict with the Willinton kit, but be sure to fuse it as g8dhe said

Re: Leisure Battery Charger

I fitted a Numax 10A charger, eBay item number 321156058628, a year or so ago and it's been fine so far. The only observation is that it has a variable-speed fan that can be quite loud if there's a bit of a load on it, but I've fitted it in the cab so it can't be too loud!

Re: Drifting

Some motorways are now badly rutted and the track of the Bongo doesn't fit the ruts, so it can move from one to the other trying to find one that fits :)

Re: Built in Sat-Nav-DVD-Bluetooth connectivity -phone

There's lots of info on here if you search "Double + Din" I have a cheap Chinese one and it's excellent apart from having a few minor glitches from time to time. It's got a 2 year warranty so I might send it back in the winter if it doesn't stop it! I have found that the satnav is a lot b...

Re: Breakdown cover for the over sixteens

I'm with National Breakdown who didn't query the age and have always been very good dealing with various breakdowns with my race van over the past few years

Re: Battery drain help with 240v compressor fridge needed...

The rated power consumption is extremely low, so they need very little to keep going. It's the initial current to start the compressor that's the problem, and I don't see any way of knowing what that will be before you buy - unless you contact the manufacturer

Re: Battery drain help with 240v compressor fridge needed...

I used a small domestic fridge in my race van. It was perfect except for the very high start-up current, even a 300W inverter baulked at it, so it was only any good on a hook-up. I also ran a 850W generator and it could just about manage the start current

Could try Iveco. My Daily 2000 had a pressed steel clamp with multiple take-offs as standard

Re: Sourcing laminate tops, sides and doors

I am planning on a DIY removable kitchen for the rear. Where can I find a good choice of laminated board? I would like it to be 12 -15mm thick, available in a good choice of matt/textured colours and with square and/or rolled edges. Kitchen worktops are too thick and, anyway, I would like the sides...

Re: Sorry, another noob asking about veg oil.

As another new Bongo owner I'm very confused Some years ago, when diesel first started rocketing in price, I looked into using veg oil and found that there were quite a few pitfalls. Some of these have been covered here, but the one that no-one is mentioning is the fact that duty hasn't been paid, a...
