front heater matrix/box
Hi all,
Got a serious issue with hot/cold mixer flap on the heater distribution box under the centre of the dash,a previous owner has sheared off the connecting arm which fits on to the mixer flap spindle and is the interface with the actuator for temperature control, the location of this is in the ...

Re: Climate control - no heat
Gents, thanks again for the good advice. I shall check whether it is in the wrong way round. Still more concerned I can't seem to operate the flap manually which means its jammed somehow.

Re: Climate control - no heat
Hi Geoff,I'll give the breakers ago, what's the contact for Ady,s.
It may not be snapped off but it's difficult to see close up.
I,m inclined to think someone has damaged it trying to move it manually before my time but can,t do much about it now and need to get it sorted so we can actually get some ...

Re: Climate control - no heat
Thanks for that,it looks very much like the top piece has broken off then. What concerns me is that I can't turn the flap manually as I assume it is help in various positions by the actuator dependant on the temp setting so the flap must be sneezed or damaged and it looks like a bit of a task to ...

Re: Climate control - no heat
Yes you've confirmed what i thought Geoff, that is the spindle for the mixer flap and I assumed that it had sheared off because it is rough.I did try and turn it with water pump pliers but just succeeded in chewing up the spindle a bit more! So I guess I will need a new flap as well as the linkages.I ...

Geoff,thanks,hopefully this works.

Its obvious the arm is missing but just can't work out what. I have to do manually to get the mixer flap to work.

Re: Climate control - no heat
Gents, thanks for the continued advice,I have identified,as suggested ,that 61-A20 looks the likely kit of parts but there seems to be 2 to choose from.
I have been trying to work out how the distribution flap actually i.e what externally, that the actuator is attached to by the linkage, actually moves ...

Re: Climate control - no heat
Thanks Geoff, your route does take me back to previous links to the page for heater componentson drawing 61 130 and.applying some common sense, link set, temp, would seem to be the obvious parts I would need but, even the drawing isn't an engineering drawing, just a blown up,the parts bear no resemblance ...

Re: Climate control - no heat
Guys, thanks for the info so far. I am having trouble identifying on the blown up drawing on lush projects, which is the bottom white link pivot arm shown on the photo above supplied by Steve. The photo shows the arm pivoting at one end and the connecting rod from the heater actuator at the other end ...

Re: Climate control - no heat
Steve, many thanks for the photo,it answers a question why I couldn't see where the bottom end of the link fitted! The bottom white arm is missing, not sure if its a screw that holds it on but certainly looks like something is sheared off in the mounting. More repairs then.

Re: Climate control - no heat
Guys, thanks, would seem like overheating solved but still no hot air from front heater, tried bleeding system,no change. Checked linkages in driver and passenger side, both disconnected. Driver one won't stay in place in cam location, think the wire solution needs to be applied. Passenger side one,I ...

Re: Climate control - no heat
Thanks tribal,I did see pics somewhere on forum, could have been yours. The long linkage had disengaged frm the cam device ,put it back in but after a couple of cycles through the modes it drops out, guess there must be a circling or similar missing.
