Re: Removing glove compartment

Hi Got the glove compartment drawer off - no problem after following your advice. However, I could find no loose wiring. Following the link you provided, I checked the wiring loom in the driver's side door and found it was damp after all the rain we've had presumably. I wiggled it about a bit, shook...

Re: Removing glove compartment

Thanks all
I'll give it a go tomorrow after checking out the central locking thread and report back if I find anything interesting.

Removing glove compartment

Hi My central locking has gone and I need to check the wiring behind the glove compartment. A DVD (101 Dalmations) got wedged behind the glove compartment (a present for my granddaughter) and it might have dislodged something. So, to stop rambling on, my question is: how do I remove the glove compar...

Outwell cool box malfunction

Hi all I've been using an outwell cool/hotbox purchased last year from the Bongo Fury site, model bcr 24a, for day trips and its worked well. I've recently returned from a camping holiday where the thing was used more intensely and it contaminated the food in it with a strong smell of TCP. Does anyo...

Re: ABS Pump

Hi
George was very communicative and helpful until he put his price up from £30 to £80!
I guess that's what you'd call capitalism in action.

Re: Diagnostic code query - ABS connected

Hi Julian Sorry for the delay in replying. My mechanic said it was the ABS light that flashed. I've been thinking of having a go myself. Have you, or anyone else, got any knowledge about the best tool or set up to interrogate the diagnostic unit? Small crockodile clips or something? Any problems to ...

Re: Diagnostic code query - ABS connected

Might have solved the "26" diagnostic code.
It's for a solenoid that opens and closes an exhaust recirculation valve.
I remember that a mechanic told me it had stuck so he disabled it.
This shows that the diagnostic "works" but no closer to finding the ABS fault. :|

Re: ABS Pump

Thanks for your advice.
The prices seem reasonable.

Any idea of the seller's reliability?

Thanks

Diagnostic code query - ABS connected

Hi All
MY ABS light has been on for some weeks now.
My garage managed to get a diagnostic code out. It consists apparently of a flashing light corresponding to the number 26.

Does anyone know what that means?

Many thanks
Steve

ABS Pump

Hi All I own a Bongo 2.5TD P registration. The ABS light came on some weeks ago. The garage I took it to has checked the sensors and brake lights and they think its the ABS pump that's faulty. The mechanic said that its probably the electronics in the pump that's gone and he will try to source a sec...

Re: Catastrophic cylinder head event - advice needed

Hi I got the verdict from my garage yesterday. It's a dropped valve, not a coolant problem. The valve has broken the cylinder head and a piston needs replacing. Very expensive, but I'll have to get it done :( Could this be anything to do with the recent cam-belt change (Carliot?) or as per David Edw...

Re: Catastrophic cylinder head event - advice needed

Hi all Thanks for your encouraging responses and advice. I was a bit downhearted when I started this thread. I saved quite a bit on what I would have paid a dealer and planned to put the savings away for Bongo maintenance. It looks like I'll be using it sooner than expected. Mikeon4bc - I had the co...

Catastrophic cylinder head event - advice needed

Hi all I bought a Ford Friendee (4WD 2.5L Turbo-diesel P reg) privately about a couple of months ago. It had done 86k miles, and had a new MoT. To my untutored eye it looked to be in pretty good nick for its age. I had a coolant level alarm and cam belt set fitted and the vehicle was serviced. I als...
