Re: Help! Van overheated in manchester city centre just now
An update! Left the van in Manchester for a good few hours whilst we did the jobs we needed to do, girlfriend got the train home, I waited for the AA to turn up. The bloke was very thorough indeed. Checked for signs of splits in pipes, pressure checked the system using a pressure thingy. We topped u...

Re: Help! Van overheated in manchester city centre just now
Hi, you can't because the casing is all cloudy. The water was pouring out of the overflow pipe though.

Help! Van overheated in manchester city centre just now
Just after advice if anyone can help. My 98 bongo has just overheated and I'm pulled up at the side of the road in manchester city centre. As soon as I could hear bubbled I immediately pulled over, I really hope I haven't done any damage, I know how sensitive the vans are to heat. I've just tried to...

Re: Stereo fit - Sony to Pioneer
By the way that Sonichi DAB sounds like a brilliant deal at £60, they're currently £80 on the website.

Best way to get ipod connected to sony cdx-4160 stereo?
I have this stereo in my bongo, no aux in as you can see from this link, pics in the listing below http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Sony-CDX-4160RDS-CD-Car-Headunit-/260796237886 I have found a wiring diagram, and noticed it has a 3.5mm jack for a remote on the back. Would this work as an aux-in!? (doubt i...

Our 1866 mile trip in the Freda
Have just got back from a fantastic 6 day trip to France in our Freda. Prior to the trip we had it checked out by the bongomeister Adrian in Bury who gave it the all clear so we were good to go. We didn't have a clear idea of where to head but found the Camping Cheques so that narrowed down our rout...

Re: Speed cameras France
Just been reading this with interest. Have just come back from a trip to Lake Geneva on the border of Switzerland on the very last leg of the trip down a fairly quick road I got flashed by what looked like a speed camera hidden in a wooden hut! Not exactly easy to spot as it was on a bend and I had ...

Re: What do I need to buy to top up coolant under the bonnet
A quick update, Adrian (Japan Direct) is amazing. He spent a good while on my van, checked over everything, only a sticking brake caliper and a dodgy headlight to report, he's pressure tested the coolant and it's all good. Good news as tomorrow we're off to France! I'll try and report back with updat...

Re: What do I need to buy to top up coolant under the bonnet
Bury is definitely do-able, thanks very much I might well give them a call tomorrow to just give the van a once-over for peace of mind, I just googled it and Japan Direct came up, I assume this is correct. I don't want to clog up the forum with coolant questions that have been asked a thousand times...

Re: What do I need to buy to top up coolant under the bonnet
Doing a quick search around for a coolant alarm, they seem to come from oz and retail at about £100ish
Are there no UK dealers for these? Would a low coolant alarm be more use than a high temp alarm? I guess the 2 both do a similar job but from different sources.

Re: What do I need to buy to top up coolant under the bonnet
I guess the only way it can be dropping is through a leak? So if i top up tomorrow with water, hopefully it won't be more than 20mm needed, then keep an eye on the tarmac as the van won't be used for most of this week, then if I see a damp patch start worrying, if i don't then can relax? Having said...
