Sleeping arrangements

Hi All, After owning Daisy for 6 years, we have eventually come to the realisation that the roof is getting a little difficult to reach as we get older. So we now plan to sleep downstairs. We've always just used the middle seat facing backwards and we have a rear conversion, which is slightly l shap...

Re: RCD earthing advice please

Hi All, Thanks for all the advice. i will go out tomorrow and buy a good quality consumer unit and make sure I earth it correctly. My next decision will be where to run the cable into the van! Was toying with the idea of sticking it under the bonnet - with the units in the van it's a bit hard to cut...

Re: RCD earthing advice please

Thanks again Geoff, Yes, that's what we inherited with our van which we now realise is unsafe and is what we are looking to replace. We've been tempted to fit a twin plug with a build in RCD made by powerbreaker. This does have an additional earthing point so it can be earthed to the chassis of the ...

Re: RCD earthing advice please

Thanks for that Geoff, we've seen a combined plug unit with a built in RCD but it doesn't have an MCD. Will the fuses in the plug be enough to protect the circuit or is it best to put in a small consumer unit?

Thanks again

RCD earthing advice please

Hi All, Just in the process of fitting a 240 volt twin electric socket with a built in RCD. Looking for some advice on what would be a good place to earth it. We've got the screws that stick up on the rear wheel arches where the rear gull wing seats used to be and we've also got the anchors where th...

Rust

Hi All, I was crawling under Daisy this afternoon and noticed some rust on some of the metal coolant pipes - notably around the t-pipe under the drivers seat. No leaks yet - but is it safe to use rust eater? A second point while I'm on here - we've had Daisy for five years now and she's never been u...

Oil leak?

hi all,

crawling under daisy today i noticed that some oil had sprayed up underneath, just in front of the spare wheel. does anyone have any ideas where this could be coming from - could it be from a drive shaft seal?

any ideas much appreciated.

Re: Overheat coming home from garage

hi, Just read your posting, as said before it sounds like it wasn't bleed correctly..when I've done mine it has taken awhile sometimes to get that bottom pipe hot, perhaps thats what they didn't do.....Anyway good luck I'm sure it will be OK I've had mine up to 107 several times.........Paul

Re: Wheel arch trims/covers

Hi Silvern, saw your link - trims look great. We've got the same X-Van wheel arch trims but haven't fitted them yet. I would be interested to know how you attached yours (no instructions came with ours!).

Thanks

Paul and Claire
