Re: Auto Gearbox Advice

Thanks for the replies.

So what is the best way to flush out what is left?

Should i fill it up then run it and bleed some oil out via the cooler pipe then keep doing this until i just get clean oil or is there a different method i should use. I've read about flushing the gearbox this way but ...

Auto Gearbox Advice

Hi All,

I'm after a bit of advice about my auto gearbox.

Drove it home from the station after picking up the wife, about a 16 mile round trip, and the gearbox was hunting or would have the effect of a clutch slipping. Got it home but it was dark so i couldn't see anything wrong. Went to check the ...

Re: Coolant Alarms

Sorry for the delay in replying, Been away at Download festival then had to work. I have noticed the coolant seems pretty cloudy after its been running. Perhaps a good drain and flush will help. When i first installed it it all worked ok with no spurious alarms so I'm guessing at dirty crappy ...

Re: Coolant Alarms

If you cleaned it and the problem is still there ...... I would suggest you have another problem ..... If you have a multi meter ... Put it on voltage ... Touch a probe to the head of the sensor screw and the other probe to earth.....report the measurement recorded back here..... Do it twice....ign ...

Re: Coolant Alarms

You could always remove the sensor screw, give it a wire brush and replace it ....just to eliminate that possibility.
It does sound like a electrical issue.
If it was a dirty screw it would sound on startup and continue for for a while gradually going quite.
You have checked the level is at least a ...

Hi, We had a chat about this on FB. LB is a red herring as it was only mentioned due to the testing method being suggested.

Re: Coolant Alarms

It wouldn't matter if the leisure battery was in the circuit or not providing the alarm connections were made in accordance with the suggested installation method.

Where have you taken the supply for the unit from- what fuse specifically and where is the ground connection.?

Hi its connected to a ...

But it's on a spilt charge so as long as the starter bat is full the leisure battery will be getting charged so perhaps it wouldn't matter.

Coolant Alarms

Hi everyone. Hoping for a bit of help and advice. I've fitted a coolant alarm that I got from Haydn a while ago. Just never got around to fitting it. All was well for a few days then it just started going off for no reason. Level is fine. I've wiggled all the connections and it won't set it off ...

Re: Fiamma vw t3 brackets

The T3 brackets are fine. You may find that the gutter has to be bent a bit to make them fit properly.
The main problem is that over time the the gutter can flex and crack the paint. Easy fix is to put a stainless bolt through the bottom of each bracket like this.

Re: First time working on a bongo. Remote central locking

I did use the remote unit, however the solenoid I picked up was different, only because the seller was on holiday though.

The remote unit was a decent size, but the instructions on it were less than ideal. took a bit of head scratching to make it work. The key if anyone else ever uses this is that ...

Re: Clicking Noise from Behind Dashboard

Well it was the trip clock. Had a look at it today and having driven at least 100 miles previous to this it was sat at 0. Must have stuck when i reset it. Reset it again and all is well.

Actually feel a bit daft now but you live and learn.

Re: Clicking Noise from Behind Dashboard

No leisure Battery but I'm sure i reset the trip clock prior to this starting so it may well be that. I'll reset again today and see what happens.
