Me too. Love my M9. Missus has an M8, only because the M9 wasn't out when she got hers.

Re: ADVICE SOUGHT: Which SIM free smartphone to buy

I stopped doing the bundle "free" phone deals a couple of years back, now buying the unlocked phone of my choice and doing a sim deal. At the time, doing it that way saved £2-300 over a two year contract with the major networks, with the same phones they were offering. Wouldn't go back.

Re: Heated Seats

My better half and my daughter like them. We have them in one of our other cars, and on a long wintry trip, they are lovely, and nice on an ageing, sore back. The Bongo is an everyday driver but also a tourer, and so would make a longer trip nicer. And if it could all be done relatively easily for <...

Re: Heated Seats

Thanks, thought about that but would rather have a stealth installation - looks best when you don't know it's there, apart from a couple of buttons on the dash somewhere.

Might do that in the meantime though :)

Heated Seats

Hello all, There was a thread in 2009 where someone asked about retrofitting seat heating. There was no answer on that one, but has anyone done it? There is a £90 kit on fleabay which has pads, loom and switches which I'm thinking might be a relatively easy upgrade. I'm hoping the seat covers will u...

I'd prefer an original one to be honest, especially following the comments about the fit problems at the rear with the Woolies version.

Where can I get a new AFT roof seal?

Hi all, My Bongo has been with me for three years now and it's part of the family. It was a good one, nice and straight and with excellent mechanicals but the paint was not tip-top with some rattle-can work, fading and clearcoat issues. With the appearance of a couple of rust bubbles on the rear arc...

Re: Trip of my Life - Driving Round the South Island

I did part of that trip in 2006, not in a Bongo though, but in a rented 3.8l Holden Commodore IIRC. I saw lots of rented campers and wished we had one. This was before my Bongo days. Started in Christchurch where I know a bunch of people from their UK days in London, went across to Greymouth, spent ...

Re: If you're fed Up with Your sound system maybe this'll he

I put a Pioneer AVIC F930BT in mine. CD, DVD, ipod, bluetooth, sat nav and of course, radio (but not DAB). Slots in seamlessly. Only it sounds pants because standard speakers/wiring not up to scratch. I want to amp the front, and replace the speakers with some stuff (kenwood amp and speakers) I have...

Re: turbo

The Bongo does not exhibit any noticeable lag. I also have a twin sequential turbo diesel BMW which has no lag either (because of the twin sequential turbos), and apart from the power differential, they behave largely the same. Decent vehicle, the Bongo.

Found this: https://www.ros.ie/evrt-enquiry/vrtenquiry.html?execution=e1s1 They don't list a Mazda Bongo (they specify a japanese imports subselection) but they do list a Ford Freda and it comes out to about €1454 for the random selections I made for 1999 Diesel auto. Not too bad (try Belgian Mise e...

^^ Best Welcome ever :D Welcome from me too, and hope the Bongo is all in order.

My sister has just moved from the UK to the Wicklow area, just outside Arklow. OT, but what's involved in re-registering cars there? I heard that there was a registration tax to be paid?

Re: Temporary brake failure Any ideas as to the cause?

Years ago I had an old E28 BMW 5 series that used to do that. It was a dodgy ABS sensor but I was skint, so I learned to manage the problem until I could sort it. Basically, start up in the morning, drive really slowly and when used, the brakes would crunch away with minimal braking until braking wo...
