Re: Sad Bye Bye

Hi, Sadly I'm not replacing the Bongo - well just yet anyway. I've now retired - a few months early thanks to the oil downturn and also moved out of town but while I was still working a 60 mile round commute didn't make sense in the Bongo so I've got a grand C-max  for the economy and it has 7...

Sad Bye Bye

Hi Folks, This is a sad goodbye to the Bongo world. I have just waved off our Bongo and its new owner -quite upsetting really  I think it has gone to a good home and I have strongly suggested that the new owner becomes a member of Bongo Fury - it has been a great support over the past 10 years ...

Re: replacement radiators

The garage sourced a radiator and given the price that they had and what had been given it turns out that their source was AVA

So I gave them the go ahead - we shall see if they find anything else once the get pressure in it [-o<

Thanks for all the advice - as always invaluable

Re: replacement radiators

Hi Helen, Interesting point and I too value your opinion- but having spoken to both Bongo towers and the main vendor of Bongo stuff it appears that the 'standard' aftermarket designs are the same as the original with plastic moulding top and bottom. :? So unless I have a sudden change of heart it lo...

replacement radiators

Hi Guys, My radiator blew yesterday  100 metres from my local garage :o My own auxiliary gauge was showing a rising temperature and I was about to pull over to check when steam clouds suddenly covered the wind screen #-o The garage can't pressurise the system until the radiator is replaced so I...

Re: Moving On

Yes those converted Alphard do look nice - but we decided a while ago that we couldn't justify such costs for the amount of camping we would actually do in a given year. And one of the main reasons for an uncovered Bongo was our regular need to carry grandchildren + parents = 5 + us so at least 7 se...

Re: Moving On

Hi Guys, I haven't been around on here much lately, just very occasionally pop in to check how you are all getting on. So supprised to find The Gordons moving on - I thought I saw their Bongo in the works carpark last week - must have been the week before - I'm only working 3 days a week now so the ...

Re: V6 oil leak

Hi

you should note that the rock cover bolts only require a bit more than finger tight to meet the spcification as they have rubber seals on each one that will break if over tightened.

Re: Duff Horn

HI, This happened to me last year. I',m at work so don't have access to me notes & schematics but from memory - I thought it was fairly staright forward as measurements told me that the power feed to the relay was faulty - however, after fixing a link to another feed still not working. I eventua...

Re: A Bongo Adventure to Greece

HHHmmmmmm This sounds interesting =D> =D> We were the ones that had an alternator fail on us half way to Poland. Having a group of VERY enthusiastic Bongo folk on hand (and the Bongo master and other folk back home that helped) to take the stress of you was really great and even with the fail...

Re: Electrical troubles.

Hi Neil,

I could probably help out but this time next week I shall be in Portugal.
So meeting up is a problem just now - If you don't get anywhere in the next couple of weeks let me know and I'll see if I can help when I get back.

Re: pre-fitted reversing sensor back light - now replaced

So I went down to Maplin and picked up a couple of their 12V bulbs - BT43W at 1.29 each. Also picked up the last 2 28V ones in the shop as well - just in case the 12V were not up to running at 14V cos they are plain bulbs and not automotive types. Anyway the 12V ones have been running for a week or ...

pre-fitted reversing sensor back light

Hi Everyone, Does anyone out there know what the spec is of the back-light bulbs in the factory fitted reversing sensor control unit? (the one fitted onto the top of the dash) :?: I must have blown mine when I re-connected the batteries after Bongo had been sitting on my drive for 4 months  (l...

Re: MOT and underpan question

Thanks for that - so quick :) I really want to get her in for the MOT so that I can start using her again - over 3 months and I'm getting quite serious withdrawal symptoms but it’s going to take access to a pit or similar and time to get these sheared bolts out. So I’ll get her booked in and leave t...
