Re: I bought a heated blanket . . .

Well - I did a little test today to see if it even works. And it does! I put it across my lap as I drove & it was so nice & warm I forgot to turn the heater on. Once it turns a bit colder I will test out how long it will last on the leisure battery. For £10 it looks like it might be pretty u...

Re: I bought a heated blanket . . .

For me 16 degrees is cool-ish - I'll probably wear a coat. 45 degrees is probably a bit warm for anything other than swimming. So 20-30 degrees is perfect. As you can see, the UK isn't my idea country! I am usually fine when walking around - but get very cold very quickly. I think it's probably lots...

Re: I bought a heated blanket . . .

I know - but I'm sitting in the warm & I can't be bothered to go outside. But you're right - I guess that is what I am going to have to do. It was only £10, so if it works it would certainly be nice on hookup and with an extension, I could sit outside & stay cosy (I really feel the cold)

I bought a heated blanket . . .

And of course I have a question . . . it plugs into the cigarette lighter (all of which now come off the leisure battery). I know it won't be a problem when I'm on hook-up - but my question is, how long will it last when running off the leisure battery? The only information I have is that it is ther...

Re: Headlights on

OK - many thanks all. One less thing to worry about - although have so far managed to flatten the battery twice and I don't really know how yet . . .

Re: Headlights on

So does this mean that's how all Bongos are - lights on even with key out?

Headlights on

I have a 2002 diesel Bongo & noticed yesterday that the headlights stay on even when the ignition key is removed from the ignition. Is this normal? (on all other cars I have had removing the keys only leaves the side lights on). Seems a bit daft - good way to flatten the battery very quickly Man...

Re: Galileo?

Yes - I found the post because the number plate was the same. They said they thought it was burnt out - but actually never came back to confirm that it was. Oh well - it just seemed like a huge coincidence. Mind you - if it turned out to be the same it would need to be re-christened Phoenix after ri...

Galileo?

Hi - I live in Ealing, West London. Today I saw a green Bongo parked up. They aren't very common, so I just thought I would memorise the last 3 letters (ENC) and have a search on Bongo fury. I came up w/ a very very old thread about a Bongo called Galileo stolen years ago. The owner, Trekie, said it...

Re: MPG on Diesel 4wd

Interesting thread. I'm with the nihilists. What I love most about the Bongo is having all my 'stuff' with me. I do a lot of dog training and so have a wide range of extra clothing on board. Plus coffee/tea and emergency food. I keep my water tank 1/4 full. So am set for day camping. For overnight I...

Lubing the AFT?

I've noticed that it sounds a little as if the motor is struggling to pull the AFT down - towards the end. It might be my imagination though. I wondered if there was anywhere I could lube to make its job any easier?

Many thanks.

Re: Rock n Roll Waterproof Cover

Driving back from a muddy walk today I decided I would try my waterproof picnic rug. It works fine as you can tuck it down the edge of the mattress. Of course it wouldn't work if there were people in the back as you couldn't get the seat belts through - but the people would keep the dogs off!!

Rock n Roll Waterproof Cover

I wonder if anyone knows an off the shelf waterproof cover for a rock n roll bed (when folded as a seat). It's now the rainy season (isn't it always?) and I'm worried my dogs will migrate from the floor of the Bongo onto the seat. So I would really like to just stretch a waterproof & tough cover...
