Breaking our beloved '95 2.5TD Bongo
Our additional family member has now reached the end of its journey with us as we can't afford to keep up with the annual bodywork welding. Mechanically the vehicle is sound and always started with the first turn of the key in any weather. It was taken off the road due to the rust that kept spreadin...

Re: anti roll bar bushes, easy fit?
Hi everyone, I've just noticed the very same 'thump' when reversing our '95 van at an angle down a slope onto a flat road - quick look underneath and my rear O/S bracket has also snapped apart in a dramatic manner too! From what I've read, the original factory fitted steel bracket wasn't really made...

Re: Engine quick warm up button
Just disconnecting the block from the back will be fine, maybe, just as a precaution, wrap some insulating tape round it. Plus if you add anything else to the Bongo that requires a switch, you've got one spare already fitted 8) Thanks guys, I was 99% sure it would be fine but just needed to ask som...

Re: Engine quick warm up button
I'm thinking of disabling my 'Warm-up' switch completely by just disconnecting the block of cables from the back of the switch as I can't help feeling its a ticking time-bomb waiting to catch me out Its only a matter of time before one of my kids decides to have a play with it whilst I'm in a shop o...

Van is booked in with ADS Automotive next week for a new head, radiator, hoses and cambelt! Thanks for all your help guys. We hope to be on the road again very soon and potentially meeting some of you at the next Bongo Bash :) Haydn, when I've saved up the rest, I'll drop your hacksaw back to you an...

Re: Angry funnel eruptions whilst bleeding
Thanks again Haydn for coming over to look at our patient today, much obliged to you. I'll keep you posted on further developments re repairs. If you find you're missing a hacksaw, I've put it safely to one side - I'll come and drop it round when we're mobile again or when you're next passing, by al...

Angry funnel eruptions whilst bleeding
Hello everyone! First post, first Bongo, first hiccup! Any advice is gratefully received :) We bought our first bongo a week ago (2.5Ltr Diesel '95), drove it home, no problem. Drove it a day later and spotted the water temp climbing very quickly, only after a mile. Pulled in and popped the bonnet t...
