Re: Awning rail height

Hopefully someone with a tintop or knowledge of whether all bongo rails are at similar height whatever age will be along soon to help. I suspect that awning would be fine. I have just measured the height of the rail/gutter on my '96 AFT and it is 179cm off the ground, so unless Bongo heights vary mu...

Re: Engine oil - full or semi 2.5TD

Hi Don't forget that it must be for a TURBO diesel, whatever you go for Cheers Helen Thank you Helen. I wouldn't have known to look specifically for that. I have much to learn but I'm keen to look after my bongo as well as I can, especially as it looks so nice again now it has been repaired after a...

Re: curtain stuck in sliding door & not opening

Glad to hear it is sorted :D I had visions of you having to climb over the front seats to get into the back and vice versa for the rest of your trip!

Re: Engine oil - full or semi 2.5TD

That sounds like a very good bargain, hijim. I have a 96 4WD Diesel and while on the subject of engine oil, I see from the handbook that I need 5W30 and on a search of this forum I have seen a number of recommendations for Castrol Magnatec .....it must be those little intelligent molecules! I gather...

Re: curtain stuck in sliding door & not opening

take the battery off then remove the inner panel then disconnect the self closing then you should be able to open the door. if you dont disconnect the battery you could loose a finger as the mechanism is trying to rotate the closing bit, if this moves while your in there, you wont stop it. ...

Re: Rear of my vehicle has melted.

So sorry to hear about your poor Bongo :( I read elsewhere that it may be written off. :( I hope that the insurance company of the driver who parked behind that caused the problem will pay the full value and that you won't have to pay any excess. If his/her insurance company doesn't know much about ...

I couldn't even get the tent bit back in the bag on its own after leaving the long bag of poles out #-o  Why is it, which ever way you fold t...

Re: Figure of 8

Thanks karena. The two lots of beading - look like black rubbery rods in a sleeve are a bit flexible, but I imagine that the figure of 8 is less so. As you said, they could just stick out a bit at each end. I quite like the idea of long bit permanently attached or I would probably forget to take it ...

Re: Figure of 8

OK, maybe a daft question about figure of 8, but be kind to me - I only heard of it a few days ago! I have bought a porch awning advertised on Gumtree (an Outdoor Revolution Tech 200) and it looks as if a figure of 8 would secure it to my bongo gutter. The porch is quite wide and the top of it will ...

Re: Attached or driveaway awning - pros and cons

Well I bought one of those Outdoor Revolution Tech 200 porches because I found one on Gumtree close to me, little used for £80 (cheapest new price £124). It had been for sale for 15 days with no enquiries until just after mine when there were another two so I had first refusal. I figured it must hav...

Re: anyone use a toilet tent?

Maybe something like this? This is an improved version from a couple I bought from Decathlon years ago - seems to be a bit taller than mine and has a bit of protection from rain getting into the tent when you open the 'door'. http://www.decathlon.co.uk/2-seconds-easy-1-tent-green-id_8302226.html Oth...

Re: Attached or driveaway awning - pros and cons

Here it is The Sunncamp taller one was £65, but this similar Outdoor Revolution one for campervan height 180cm-220cm is £125 from Leisure Outlet (11% off, RRP £140). http://www.leisureoutlet.com/caravans-and-motorhomes/Canopies/Outdoor-Revolution-Tech-Canopy.html#prettyPhoto Must say I quite like th...
