Try giving Simon at Contract Mechanics a call. Not quite Oxfordshire but not far. Had him service mine and change the brake pads a couple of months ago.

Except for maybe a cam belt change any normal garage can service a V6 Bongo .. even my 13 year old grandson can change the 6 spark plugs .. !!

The oil / filter change .. brake pads and such are completely routine stuff .. even Halfrauds / Kwik Fit .. ATS etc: can do them ..

Hi Mike

Is this true as I thought Bongo's needed to be serviced by a garage with Bongo knowledge?
I am in Kent near Dover and mine needs servicing but cannot find any local specialist's but if I can take it to any garage I will

Sorry to hijack orignal post

The only really specialist aspect is when a garage needs to play with the coolant system, but of course you can't always be sure what they will "play" with when its not in your sight!

Spot on Geoff.

I've heard of problems where they've messed with stuff and not mentioned it.

A Bongo garage will also know where to source parts, I've heard of peeps being Bongoless for months as the parts 'Have to come from Japan'.

For a routine service any garage will do it ..

Except for changing the oil and filters most is just a visual check any way .. there are no special parts to get from Japan ..

I maintained my V6 Bongo myself ..

Check what you get from the likes of Halfords for your ££ss..

I know there are no parts required from Japan for a simple service, just saying I have known probs on here where a garage has found a problem during a service and had to source parts.
